Conversations with Danielle Muccillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Muccillo.

Danielle Muccillo

Hi Danielle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have doing professional photography for just over a little over a year . Before pursing my dream, I taught special education for the last 17 years and coached soccer for 8 years. Although I have been taking photos my whole life, I never really thought it was something that I could pursue as a career. However, over the last few years, my husband has come to recognize my passion for photography, and he has been my biggest supporter. He has been the one to point out that my photos are great and has encouraged me to pursue my passion. In all honesty, if it was not for him, I don’t think I would be doing this today.

Over the last year in business, I have learned so much and met so many amazing people along the way. They have been my biggest cheerleaders and have continued to support and encouraged me as I move down this new career path. I am just so excited to see where photography will take me in the years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey hasn’t been easy; challenges are inevitable. But honestly, those obstacles have fueled both my personal and professional growth. Along the way, I’ve learned to discern who genuinely supports my vision. This hasn’t deterred me; it’s ignited a stronger determination to see my goals through. Truthfully, I thrive on challenges – they propel me forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I see photography as a way to bottle up those special moments, the kind of unspoken connection that exists between families or friends. It’s about creating images that go beyond just looking pretty, images that really make people feel something.

Whether I’m working with a family, senior or a small business, I want to bring out their real story. The genuine laughs, the quiet smiles, the love that shines through even when you’re not trying. It’s all part of the story, and I want my client’s photos to tell it in the most authentic way possible.

For me, it’s about more than just a quick photo session and a few snapshots. I take the time to get to know my clients, to understand what makes them tick, and to create an environment where they feel comfortable and confident.

Ultimately, I want to create images that they’ll look back on years from now and remember not just how they looked, but how they felt. Photos that capture the essence of who they are, what they value, and the story they living.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the industry continuing to evolve especially as AI becomes a reality more and more. I also feel as though video will become more and more prevlent in the photography space. However, nothing will ever change the human touch and creativity that each photographer and or videographer has. There I feel like our industy will survive but it may just look a little different.
