Conversations with Cody Crampton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Crampton.

Hi Cody, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started greyXeyes, an Emo rap music project, in 2018. After touring with bands like Kriminals, Strength In Numbers, and LindaMar, I decided to leave the band life, and pursue my career as a solo artist.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smoothe road at all. After the debut EP “The Sun Will Rise” dropped in 2019, I decided to take a 1 year break for mental health reasons. Currently, I mix & master my own music now, in order to cut down in costs on production.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my singing talent in multiple groups, and I sing/rap/write all the lyrics for my current project “greyXeyes”. I’m proud of having a single with artists like Lil Yung Pharaoh, POMI, ScurtDae, and many more well known artists in the Emo Rap community. I plan to take part of more live performances In the future.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My prospective on risk, is that at times it’s good to take reasonable risk. It’s important to weigh out pros and cons before jumping to conclusions on business. With that being said, there are also times where we must learn to put business aside, and do things for creative purpose alone. I try to balance the two.
