Conversations with Ciara Cisneros

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciara Cisneros. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Ciara Cisneros

While 3iDragon has only technically had its final lineup for a year, it has been 10 years in the making. Founding members Ciara Cisneros and Kasey Carling have been musical companions through beginner bands, band competitions, one-off projects, and even other lineups of this same project. It wasn’t until 2021-2022 we would find two more members – Chris Kontos and Erin Anglin – with the same passion and dedication for creating music. Since then, we’ve released two singles and performed 20+ live shows. In this short time, our musical skill set, our creative outlooks, and our friendship has grown (and continues to grow) to a place that none of us ever expected.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges we’ve had to overcome goes back to when 3iDragon didn’t exist yet. Finding our final band members was a tedious and discouraging process that lasted about 5 years. We searched for musicians through social media, musician forums, word-of-mouth, and even the old-fashioned “Musician Needed” flier posted around towns. Once someone responded to the ad, Ciara and Kasey would bring them up to speed with the setlist and struggle to find some initial gigs as a try-out. If they worked out, they would stick around for only six months to a year before leaving the band, and we’d have to start the process. It felt like we were chasing our tails and never getting any true momentum for a while, so it felt like a miracle when Chris and Erin stepped into the band. Since then, we’ve struggled with common band issues such as getting gigs or schedule management, but we’ve been able to work through it all so far.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Making music is, without a doubt, where we drive most of our energy. That has now expanded beyond just the composition. For example, when we create a song, it now involves writing and refining our musical composition, recording our parts at Ciara’s bedroom studio, or with the help of another studio, several rounds of song production, brainstorming, mixing, and mastering the final produced composition, in-house photoshoots, creating promotional, developing a marketing plan, and creating an album cover design. We’re passionate about making our songs a complete experience and putting thought into each piece of the story we are trying to tell. We are proud to say that everything we do is full of passion, creative open-mindedness, and raw energy.

What does success mean to you?
Having a group of individuals who can create music is already a big success. However, we feel the most successful when we perform our original material at a show, and you can feel the audience connecting with our music. Success is connection. There’s no more incredible feeling than the energy exchange between us and the audience when we’re playing live. We love it when people approach us after a show because that means we made the right kind of impact and impression.
