Conversations with Ashley Muller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Muller.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sunshine is something that reminds me that God loves me. To me, it means light, goodness, and warmth. My mother used to call me sunshine when I was young. When I was in Navy boot camp and was struggling feeling down a sunray broke thru the cloudy sky and landed on my cheek. It gave me the courage to press forward and the energy to stay the course. Now anytime I feel the sunlight it fills my soul with love and lifts me up.

I have always had a love for cooking and baking. When I was growing up my mother celebrated many holidays from around the world with amazing foods and treats. I grew to love international foods, it made me feel connected to people from all cultures and backgrounds. Today I want to share my culinary skills and talents with others to help bring joy and smiles.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting from beginning with just the idea to share what I love with others. Perfecting my techniques, packaging, and getting the word out. I have the blessing and curse of being a perfectionist. I strive to always create the very best treats but compare myself to others too much.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create treats, treats, and more treats. Imagine being surrounded by a rainbow of colors of all your favorite sweet treats covered in chocolate and sprinkles. That is what Sunshine Sweets by Ashley makes. My most popular fan favorites are apple pie caramel apples and Madam Rosmerta’s butterbeer fudge. I am most proud of my continued focus on learning new technique and skills. I believe this sets me apart because it allows me to create new sweet treat ideas and fun flavor combinations.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
The best way that people can support me is by buying and enjoying my sweet confections, offering ideas of new treats and flavors to make. I offer samples at my booth at Highland Yard Vintage.
