Today we’d like to introduce you to Armando Spataro

Hi Armando, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My brother and I have always shared a passion for electronics, particularly home theater and audio equipment. However, it was about six years ago, I came across some old records that belonged to our father, many of which I remembered listening to as a child—like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” amongst some disco albums. Inspired by the nostalgia, I decided to bring those albums back to life.

I began searching for vintage audio equipment to create a set up that matched the era of those records. After several months of hunting, I managed to assemble a nice collection of HiFi gear capable of playing those albums. Listening to those records again was a deeply nostalgic experience, and it sparked my interest in collecting vinyl from the 70s and 80s—especially rock, pop, and movie soundtracks.

A year later, with a growing collection in hand, I thought it would be fun to share my journey on Instagram. To my surprise, I quickly gained a large following and around that same time, some of followers mentioned that we should get into product reviews. This is when I decided to team up with my brother, to launch our YouTube channel, “HiFi Brothers.” It’s been an enjoyable hobby for both of us, allowing us to explore our interests and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall, the journey has been smooth, but there are times when we need to step back to prioritize our families and responsibilities. At one point, we paused our channels for about two years (started during Covid) to focus on what mattered most. However, we’ve been back for over a year now, consistently creating and sharing content, balancing our passions with family life has made our return all the more rewarding.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
HiFi Brothers is all about sharing our passion for home audio equipment with the community. Our slogan reflects our approach: we’re just a couple of average bros, not professionals, who want to recreate the experience that many enthusiasts cherish—whether it’s enjoying music or watching movies.

We aim to create content from the perspective of everyday consumers, which resonates with the majority of our audience. While our videos might come across as a bit cheesy or not overly polished, that’s intentional. We’re simply two guys who geek out over audio gear, and we love sharing that enthusiasm with others.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The best advice we can offer to anyone starting out is not to be afraid of putting yourself out there. When we first launched HiFi Brothers, especially on YouTube, we hesitated because we didn’t think we measured up to all the amazing content already available. But we decided to push through that fear and said to ourselves, “If people like us, great! If not, that’s okay too. At least we’ll have something to look back on when we’re older.”

Creating this channel feels like a milestone in our lives—a lasting memory we can always revisit. Embrace the journey, and remember that it’s about the experience, not just the outcome.
