Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Tijerina

Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a portrait photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. Apart from capturing moments behind the lens, my full time job is being a stay at home mom for my awesome little family I have created! Growing up in Orange County, California, I always had a fascination with photography from a young age. Over time, my hobby of “just taking photos” turned into more of a passion. In 2014, I relocated from California to Arizona, and soon after, I became a Mom. I realized just how much I loved capturing those special moments with my children and family, and it motivated me to start taking pictures professionally. After having my 3rd child, I started my photography business and have loved every moment of it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it has been rather smooth. The struggles I have faced lately are mostly technical with computers and having to buy new equipment.. but that is all part of the photography world and having to eventually face those struggles. I have been very lucky so far.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a portrait photographer that specializes in Family portraits. I also do headshots, maternity, events, graduation, and real estate photography.

I am extremely proud at how far I have come in 2 years and the amazing feedback I have received from the families I have photographed. I think what sets me apart from others is how quickly I can capture a good picture, even when the kids aren’t in the best mood. I love coming up with funny prompts to cheer up the kids and it gets them to warm up to me.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to start doing more studio work for my clients this year, especially during the summer months when it is just too hot for sessions. I would also like to start doing more event photography and possibly weddings one day!
