Conversations with AC

Today we’d like to introduce you to AC. 

Hi AC, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started photography years ago when I first got into plane spotting. I have a deep love for aviation and photography. With plane spotting, both of those come together. As the years went on, I learned how to operate most of the setting on the camera. I’m always trying to improve my photography skills.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been relatively smooth but that could be because of the things I focus on. When I first started shooting manual it was discouraging as it was a huge change and I struggled to get good photos. My edits years ago were not as good as they are now and I struggled to grow. As the years went on, I gained a lot of support from family, friends, and the Instagram community.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Photography for me as of now is a hobby. I’m known for my aviation photography as I have been doing it for years and that’s where it started. I am the most proud of the photos I took during the 2021 marching season for my high school. We created a lot of memories and achieved things that were difficult but never impossible, I’m grateful to be able to capture the moments we have as a band. I like to do a lot of diverse shots. If I see something I like or a shot I want to take I’ll try to make it happen. It doesn’t always work out but I learn from the mistakes.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success with being satisfied where you are. If you can learn from your past and keep pushing yourself to be better, you will be successful. Anything is possible if you put the effort into it and as long as you’re passionate about it. Love what you’re doing.
