Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Beaule
Hi Lindsey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I was born and raised in Maine and moved to Arizona a few years ago. I have always had a passion for decorating and design. I started on this macramé journey at the beginning of 2020 when I decided I wanted to make myself a keychain and just fell in love with the craft. Since then, I have made hundreds of items, been a part of multiple local markets, have completed many custom orders and even have my items in a local shop “Woods and Whites”. I find complete joy in creating pieces that others can use in their homes or offices as an extension of their personalities.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Having started this business in the midst of a pandemic and state wide shut down, it was hard to get out into the community and really interact with locals. And the shipping delays of all my materials to make these handmade creations was trying. But, as the year progressed, I started my Etsy shop which really helped me hit the ground running. Slowly but surely everything started to open and I was able to join local artisan markets.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make handmade macramé and weaving creations. I love to make everything from large, detailed wall hangings to small accessories like keychains and coasters. My favorites are my original creations, for example, neutral weavings which are beautiful woven backgrounds with a black line art overlay. Coming up with a unique design like this is so rewarding in the sense that they’re one of a kind and you’ll only be able to find them in my shop.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The art of macramé is constantly evolving and is resilient enough to acclimate to ever changing trends. It has been around for decades and has recently been given a breath of fresh air. I truly believe this is a trend that will become a household decor mainstay for years to come.
