Conversations with the Inspiring Yolanda Celaya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Celaya.

Yolanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been an Aesthetician for 18 years. Started out working for a small business owner then moved on to work for a friend in the historical district in Glendale. Then, worked for two different big corporations and now rent a suite in the Arrowhead area working my own hours to have time for myself and my family.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Is anyone’s journey smooth? It was discouraging in the beginning mostly due to no clientele. There were days I sat and had no clients but I hung in there and eventually built up my books. Definitely would tell women starting out in this beauty industry to never give up and have patience because word of mouth is the best advertisement. Social media is a great way to showcase your work and get your name and face out there.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I specialize is all aspects of aesthetics. Facials which I customize to each client. Hair removal all over the body using wax. Lash extensions are my main expertise which is all the craze no a days. I also love doing makeup Applications on bare faces bringing out one’s natural beauty. What sets me apart from others is my crazy, funny blunt personality. My clients are my family and I am so grateful to have each and everyone one of them for years and many more to come.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
My mother, first and foremost. She always worked but maintained a household. I strive on maintaining a strong work ethic to show my children that working is important and makes you realize earning your own money is rewarding.
