Conversations with the Inspiring Starr Alexandria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Starr Alexandria.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I never enjoyed playing sports. It wasn’t until the college days that I discovered a passion for working out. Over the course of a few years, no matter how much time I spent in the gym, I could never achieve my personal goals when it came to having the body composition I had always desired. Eventually, I decided to reach out to a professional for guidance and drastically change what I was doing. The first step I took in reaching my fitness goals, with the help of a nutritionist, was to focus on my diet. The more in sync my diet finally became with my fitness routine, the more athletic I wanted to become. Last year, I decided to compete in my first bodybuilding competition and since then I’ve been hooked. My coach and I now have two shows under my belt where I have placed, and we continue to train so that I can achieve my dreams of becoming a Professional Body Builder. From former cardio queen to Bikini Competitor wanting to go Pro, I’m not saying that I didn’t love my body before, but I’m more appreciative of it now because of how much effort I put not only into my workouts but also into having a well-balanced diet, keeping me consistent. Not to mention, the knowledge I gain about health and fitness further allows me to achieve my ultimate fitness goals every day and hopefully inspire others to do the same.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Signing up for a bodybuilding competition will definitely change a person’s life throughout the course of however many weeks they decide to prep and there are many many hours spent in as well as out of the gym prepping for it. It also tends to take us away from some of the social life especially as we get closer to show. That was one of the hardest things I had to face starting out because I love going out and I am a bit of a foodie. The diet restriction can be extremely tough at times during these crucial weeks of prep, but there are definitely ways of working with it too. The competing aspect of wanting to live a healthy well-balanced life is on the extreme end. So, I advise any young women looking to compete specifically to be patient yet mentally prepared for a drastic change to your body but to also know that it will all be worth the sacrifices you may have to make. It’s still supposed to be fun after all.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I’m working towards getting my Pro Card as a Bikini Body Builder. I train to compete because that is my ultimate end game. In the meantime, I’m modeling, building my brand, and obtaining a nutritionist certification so that I can properly help others achieve their fitness goals. I also enjoy educating others about the extremities of bodybuilding as my own journey continues every day. Stay tuned to my Instagram for my official health and fitness program coming soon.
