Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Bryant aka Riirii.
Maria, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
At the age of 18, I was on my own and beginning to find my way. Through trial and error, I slowly navigated obstacles and slowly found what I wanted to do. I learned quickly that I was made to be an entrepreneur and an investor. Now, I find myself each day looking for new investment opportunities as well as modeling.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There has been a few obstacles and challenges along this journey. Such as learning who my friends really are and are not with my success as well as losing someone that I loved dearly. I keep moving forward in their memory and as for my friends that I’ve lost, I try not to let it bring me down and to keep pushing forward. I had to sacrifice my old self to grow and evolve into who I am today.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I wear many hats but the most important one would be being an investor. I invest in e-commerce as well as small businesses. I am still growing and learning new things each day. I think the one thing that sets me apart from others would be just remaining humble and relatable. I like to meet new people and learn their story and gain new friends in addition to business partners.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I feel that women are well positioned for just as many opportunities as anyone else. We are strong and adaptable and can take on any challenge that is thrown at us.
