Conversations with the Inspiring Kesha Hendricks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kesha Hendricks.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey with events started way before my creative craft with the events I do today. For eight years, my story took me on a different route, I was at the popular retail store Charlotte Russe. From windows to floorset, store remodels and much more, that’s where my story started. It was at this job I was able to trust my own creativity and take chances with a blank canvas to most and turn it into something beautiful. I’ve always liked to do things with my hands. I’ve always loved challenging myself and finding a unique way to execute a project. Now, today, I proudly have taken all my lessons and you have Creatively Crafty Events.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a bumpy, but fun road. I appreciate the bumps because it’s gotten me to this point today. I think that’s probably the best question to ask someone because I love the rawness you can get with this. Sometimes, it can shine from the outside but you have no idea what darkness it takes for that. As an entrepreneur, you’re going to have challenges. You’ll have things that work, then, on the other hand, you’ll have things that push you out of your comfort zone and force you to not give up until you’ve to concord it. My advice to any young women who are planting her seed is this. Take your time and bloom. Take your time and learn your craft. Don’t look for the full reward after one day of work. Give yourself time. Water your business with love, patience, truth, grace, and faithfulness. Write your mission statement for your business and live by that. You’ll have days you want to give up but giving up isn’t an option. You’ll have your days when everything is going right, but it’s important to keep yourself grounded and stay true to who you are. Always keep a joy journal as I call it. Write down your goals, triumphs, and your downfalls so you can look back and learn from your mistakes. Lastly, if it doesn’t bring you joy, evaluate and look for a new route.

What should we know about Creatively Crafty Events? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
It’s been one of my greatest joys watching CCE bloom into things I wouldn’t have imagined. Blessed is an understatement. Creatively Crafty Events is an Event Styling and Custom Decor company in a few words. But it’s so much more. I specialize in unique custom decor. I’m known for my custom dessert tables that I design and style with the customer’s vision. I am most proud of the smiles and peace of mind I’ve been able to give clients. To see the joy an event can give someone is a feeling like no other. I think what sets me apart from others is that I look for the small crafty details to make every event unique and different. I take great pride in my work so your event is my event. I like to wow the guest and make them see that clients vision comes to life. To the mom who knows what she wants, and the mom who has no idea I take it and show someone it’s no limit to creativity.

Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Oh my so many. To the many women who came before me and who have gracefully molded me into who I am today. My sister, my good friend Dominique. My amazing God sisters! My super girl friends who don’t have business inspire me as well, my super mom friends it’s so many. But I’ll touch on two because I can go on all day. My mom. My mom was a bad ass (I hope I can say that) she taught me that no matter what you can achieve anything that you put your mind to.l when you put God first. One of my greatest moments was seeing my mom go to school to Graduate with a bachelors and a Masters degree. All while being a mother and wife. I never saw her sweat. I never saw her give up. She was amazing. My Aunt Elieen she’s invested so much into my dreams. She’s inspired me because when life happens her faith never wavers. Always positive. Always hopeful. At a young age without really knowing what a entrepreneur was my mom and aunt both were. They inspired me because before I knew who or what I’d become they taught me that skies were the limit.
