Today we’d like to introduce you to Jemini Wild.
Jemini, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I went full time in my business in July of 2018 but I’ve been building it my whole life. As a teenager, I drew pictures of retreat centers and would plan out the different classes and features I’d offer.
In college, I traded a pre-law curriculum for education in Religious Studies. Studying religion covered all the things I was fascinated about – psychology, ritual, symbolism, metaphysics and most importantly, how we make meaning of our lives.
But this education was difficult to translate in the working world and I took a job in the restaurant industry. As a bartender, I noticed I had a knack for reading people. I could discern a person’s mood effortlessly and within minutes people would share their struggles, worries and the depths of their hearts with me.
In 2012, I received my wellness coaching certification but didn’t have the resources or the energetic capacity to go full throttle. I continued climbing the service industry ladder but the lifestyle was unsustainable and didn’t align with my heartfelt values.
When I finally left my job managing an award winning cocktail bar, burnt out, defeated and physically exhausted, I became determined to enjoy my life, to live in alignment with my highest calling and to take as many people with me as possible on that journey.
I put myself out there, created heart-centered programs, took on more clients and here we are.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has NOT been a smooth road. Operating a heart-centered business has challenged my sense of worthiness, how I interact with money, and my ability to receive love at the most fundamental level. This ish is not for the faint of heart.
There were multiple times I opened my banking app and looked at a $0.00 balance. I’ve witnessed my checking and savings totally wiped out, thousands of dollars in credit card debt and no idea where grocery money was gonna come from.
Those were dark days and many times I wanted to run back to the safety of the restaurant industry – go back to what I knew, what came easy and what I was good at.
But the only way out is through.
My advice for young women starting their journey is to believe in possibility. Believe in the magic of things. Understand that your world doesn’t have to operate on the societal constructs of time, money or success.
Yes, it’s very real that bills gotta get paid – but if they’re late – don’t take it on your heart. Don’t attach it to your worth when things don’t go your way. Don’t beat yourself up.
You wouldn’t yell at a flower to grow. Treat your dreams the same. Hold yourself and your dream-seed sacred, a holy commitment, a devotional experience.
When it feels hard, use it as an opportunity to recommit, realign, refocus, remember who you are and what you’ve come to do.
Lean on what’s possible, not what’s probable and definitely, DEFINITELY, let your freak flag fly.
Show your brilliance, your weirdness and don’t hide behind what’s not going right. Find the thing that IS going right and celebrate it. Loudly.
And finally, let your mantra be: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Rise to the occasion of your unfolding with ease, grace, and appreciation.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I believe that all of life is sacred and my programs encourage people to reach for holiness in every moment. Whether it’s a hug, a trip to the grocery store or a walk to the washing machine – God/Universe/Source (whatever you call it) is present.
I work with clients and students one-on-one, in group coaching containers, and through self-study programs. These experiences support and guide women through doubt, fear, and confusion into clarity, expansion and authentic self-expression.
Through working with me, they come to understand their own brilliance, what they have to offer the world and that they truly, along with the desires of their heart, do matter.
The thing that most sets me apart from others is that I’m not afraid to go into the depths. I know about the hard things. I’ve had deep struggles with self-sabotage, self-loathing, drug abuse, childhood trauma, and death. I’ve felt the weight of mistakes, the punch of regret and the burn of shame. For many years, I didn’t believe I was worthy of anything.
When someone has a vulnerable share or lets the weight of their heart be known – I’ve been there. I can hold space for that – without judgment, without blame – with compassion and an orientation toward healing.
What a relief, that with me, you don’t have to pretend to be anyone else. When you’re with me no one is expecting or requiring anything of you and the radiance shines through.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I think the biggest opportunity available to women right now is to transition from external validation to heart-centered living. This means consulting your own desires, needs, and wisdom to set goals, make decisions and discern the best path.
Often, women are described as “too sensitive” or “too emotional,” when actually, this is a great superpower. Being sensitive allows a woman to discern subtle energetic cues from people and her environment. Through interpreting these cues, she can serve at a higher level. Her work, family, and community all greatly benefit from this.
