Conversations with the Inspiring Heather Ramirez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Ramirez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Heather. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been living in Tucson for over 27 years, life has handed me some challenges on my journey but I am tough and I have always found a way to make it through. As a wife and mother of three, I guess I have no choice but to be tough right?! Our family not only has three children, but we also have our Holland Lop bunny, a Potbelly pig, chickens, and our newest member a Red Heeler puppy. To say the least, I love to keep busy and even more love a challenge!

Now that you know about my little farm at home, this brings us to what I enjoy doing for work, as if I needed to do more! Like I said, I love being busy. I have always wanted to help people but I was not sure where I wanted to do so. I have been in the food and beverage industry for over 14 years and as much as I loved doing this, I wanted to do more. My father is a Casa Grande Battalion Chief, going into medical seemed to be in my blood, so I ended up going back to school to get my Emergency Medical Certificate. I then went to work at Banner University Medical Center, Southern Arizona’s Level Trauma Center which was a nice way to help others both physically and mentally. While working there, however, I started missing the sales part of my life from food and beverage, which brought me into my profession today. I am now in Real Estate, this brings both parts of the things I love most together, sales and helping people make lifetime memories in buying and selling homes.

I am excited every day I wake up, as no one of them are the same and keeps me learning. I believe constantly challenging yourself and gaining as much knowledge as you can help in any profession. I hope to inspire people. When you think you can’t do something because it may be new and scary, remember you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to. Sometimes, it may not be easy, but in the end, it will be worth it. Head up, smile and have confidence.

I look forward to serving my local community and its surroundings!

Has it been a smooth road?
Is there a smooth road? I believe that success may not be easy, but if you keep moving forward to the end it will be worth it. Don’t be afraid of change and settle for something you don’t love. If you find that passion for a certain career, go for it. Even if you get there and it is not what you thought, at least you tried and you can figure it out! Trying new things and not being afraid is how you grow and become an even more awesome version of who you already are.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Real Estate Professional, helping others both in the buying and selling of their homes. I absolutely LOVE seeing all the beautiful homes here in Arizona, sometimes I don’t know who gets more excited, myself or my client. I am honored to be a part of such a special moment in others lives by helping them get the best of the best, as well as creating awesome relationships with them. I am honest, reliable and love a good negotiation. I think that what is needed in this career as well as being compassionate and giving back to my community.

For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
I feel that we believe what the media tells us if they are focused on nothing but challenges, we are automatically going to live in that story. I am not saying that there aren’t challenges, I do feel like I said before, not every road is easy but you CAN do anything you put your mind to. There are a lot of careers where it may be “male roles”, however, I can guarantee that if there is a woman that wants that position, she will get there with hard work and determination.
