Conversations with the Inspiring Hayley Borges

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Borges.

Hayley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Originally born and raised in Hawai’i, I moved to Arizona in 2012 to attend Northern Arizona University and have been in Arizona ever since! I attained my bachelor of science in hotel and restaurant management and have several years of experience in the hospitality industry. Hospitality is in my blood and my passion has always been to help people, which is why I found real estate to be an easy transition from the corporate world. I take pride in providing my clients with honesty, in-depth communication, market knowledge, and thorough education just to name a few. My overall goal is to help people find a home they love and to make the process as seamless as possible.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting something new can always seem overwhelming and scary. I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of ebbs and flows starting out, however, do not ever second guess yourself if it’s something that lights a fire in you. Challenge yourself to do something that you’re passionate about. It takes time and patience with not only yourself but the process as well. Be a sponge in regards to advice and learn as much as you can. I’m thankful for all of the support I’ve been show and wouldn’t be here without my family, friends, and fiancé.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
To me, real estate is a labor of love. It’s not about trying to “sell” someone a house, it’s about helping them fall in love with a home. I understand how stressful and daunting the process can seem which is why I’m most proud of the clear communication and education I provide my clients. To me, it’s a path that I take pride in walking together with either my buyers or sellers. With the number of realtors out there, my passion and genuine caring are what sets me apart from realtors because, at the end of the day, I put my clients before myself and care about what’s best for them and their well being.

What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
The biggest barrier today, in my opinion, can honestly be ourselves. We can second guess ourselves especially in this day and age of “instant gratification”, which can make us second guess all our time we’re putting into something. However, it is again so important to put our faith and patience in the process and continue to do as much as possible to get us to where we dream to be.
