Conversations with the Inspiring Evelin Herrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelin Herrera.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Evelin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Fashion has always been my escape. I remember ever since high school, I enjoyed going to Goodwill and handpicking unique vintage pieces. Slowly, this passion of mine turned into a nice side hustle. It eventually gave me the confidence to overcome my fear and finally do what I love, at a very young age. It felt like a huge step, but I haven’t looked back ever since. I opened my own online boutique called Fé boutique. Fé, translated to faith in English, was inspired by simply the name itself. I worked with what I had and simply started in my bedroom closet. At that point, I was determined and would do everything for this dream of mine. I’m grateful that I did because it led to the opportunities I’ve come across today. Although I am just starting out, completely fresh in this world of business, I have so much more to accomplish and surely so many more struggles to overcome.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been easy, but it continues to bring me great joy. Spreading the word was certainly a huge challenge at the beginning. However, social media and Instagram have been an amazing and useful tool. Every challenge I’m faced with now becomes a greater experience of learning my true potential. Life is too short to do something you don’t love. My advice is to find what truly lights you up, and do whatever it takes to make it happen. Don’t ever give up and don’t take anything personally. Most importantly, don’t take no for an answer. You will eventually come across unexpected success. Once you overcome the fear of actually doing what you are meant to do, the reward will be fantastic.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Fé Boutique story. Tell us more about the business.
Fé Boutique started from a bedroom closet and lots of Fé. We are based in Phoenix, Arizona. Bringing you chic clothing for all the free-spirited babes. We carry something different and edgy. My desire with Fé Boutique is to have all type of women feel good once they try one of my items. Thanks to every pop up I’ve had, it opened up the opportunity to connect with my customers. Thankfully, growth has been particularly rapid among all types of women, which was my main focus and goal. With so much going on in this world, bringing women together, even for just shared interests in a piece of clothing or accessories, will bring me so much gratitude.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I grew up in a true Mexican household with immigrant parents who both worked extremely hard every single day with such limited opportunities. I watched many struggles my parents endured and in doing so, I received an early reality check. At the age of ten, I placed myself in various situations, a lighthearted one such as selling tamales with my grandmother, which helped me understand what is meant to hustle. Above all, the amount of support and love I received throughout my childhood has stayed with me this far. It has and always will be the backbone of everything I set my mind to.
