Conversations with the Inspiring Erica Medellin Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Medellin Sanchez.

Erica, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, as I’m sure many of us have experienced, I’d repeatedly get asked, “What do you want to be when you’re older?” Often times, we would change our mind, again and again, trying to figure out what our “passion” was. As for me, I never knew how to answer that question every single time I was asked. No job stood out to me enough to chase after it until I was introduced to the business world.

It began when I joined a club, DECA, back in high school that sparked my interest in entrepreneurship. It was different from the norm, but I loved the freedom of lifestyle it could give me. That’s when I really fixed my priorities and seeked how to achieve the things I wanted in life including financial liberty, traveling, family security, time freedom, health protection, peace of mind, happiness, and influence. I’ve always been open to trying new things, so upon graduating I took opportunities that have shaped me into the person I am today. With consistency and drive, I have had the pleasure of connecting with amazing people from all over the country, and help others learn skill sets that can help them in financial, personal and really all aspects of their lives. I’m only 18 years old, and I know I’m only in the beginning chapters of my story, but there came a day when I decided to pick up the pen because there’s only one author to the book and that is me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe that through any path you take it will always be a bumpy road. It is not a straight line but rather zigzags towards where you are right now.

Now, everyone has different lives so hardships may vary from one individual to another. Throughout my journey, a major struggle I’ve faced was altering my habits and balancing the major principles in my life together. However, at a young age I was put into a position of dealing with a chronic illness that affected my entire life, but because of this, I have gotten better at time management, and it definitely allowed me to focus on the things most valuable to me – a crucial foundation that I use in the business field.

Oftentimes, as an entrepreneur, I feel doubt and lose motivation to keep going when results are minimal, but it’s important to remind yourself WHY you’re doing it. You have to stay consistent no matter how bumpy the road gets because your breakthrough will eventually come. The price of not doing what I pursue will cost me much more than achieving it in the end. I know for a fact that I wasn’t put on this earth to just survive but rather thrive and let all the blessings that come to me go through me to impact others. Another major struggle throughout my journey was actually executing all the information I was learning. With this, I realized that no one but you is going to do the work for you. It’s definitely a moment of reflection, but it also builds credibility and mental toughness along the way.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am currently pursuing my career as an entrepreneur through first-hand active learning and mentorship. I am greatly involved in network marketing, sales, and investing in the world’s largest global financial market.

I became ensured in skincare/beauty as an Independent Beauty Consultant. This has allowed me to help not only women but also men find a perfect regimen for their skin needs and help boost their self-esteem. This also permitted me to practice my communication and management skills as a saleswoman. In addition, with network marketing, I have the opportunity to become a team leader and share with others how to start a home-based business and side hustle to make an extra or full stream of residual income. I would also identify myself as an investor. I trade currencies in the foreign exchange market as well as cryptocurrency all through my electronic device. I am able to duplicate my money by studying the patterns in the market through an excellent platform and make educated decisions on how and when to invest.

One of the things I admire most about this is being able to work at your own pace. There’s no limit to what capacity you can carry your business and success to. Not only this but all of the work I do revolves around helping people, and THAT feeling is much greater than anything else I’ve ever done. Therefore, I’m excited to continue to maximize my capabilities in the entrepreneur world. Something that I differentiate myself from others is simply the personal things a typical teen wouldn’t normally have to deal with built me up from the experience instead of taking me down. I use this to help the next one in a line dealing with the same or similar struggle. We don’t realize that it’s mostly during our lowest points when our true selves are revealed to us all depending on how we choose to react and apply it into our lives after that point.

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
A piece of advice I’d give to young women or anyone beginning their entrepreneur journey is to invest time into personal development because when you become rich in the mind, the money will follow. When you focus on becoming the best version of yourself in what you do, the success will come, and the people you begin to attract into your life are only going to build you up. Also, never let being young make you think you’re not ready to accomplish certain things. You can. You just have to believe in yourself and work at it to watch it manifest into reality.
