Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristy Campos.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Cristy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been in cosmetology for over 12 years. I recently decided to leave the salon that I had been working at for 11 years and open my own studio. I decided on my own studio to have my own clients and be able to have the flexibility that I need with my two kids. It has been one of the best decisions I have made career-wise. I love having the positive vibes that having my own studio brings. My clients have been very supportive, many of which have been with me for many years.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For me, it has been a smooth road in opening my own studio but I think a lot of that has to do with timing. I waited a while to open my own studio to build my clientele. Prior to opening my own studio, I worked at a salon and that was hard as you have schedules you have to follow and you can’t control the vibes of the salon. The advice I would give others is to take your time and make sure this is something you are in for the long run as it is a big commitment. Believe in yourself and you can do it.
What should we know about Blush Hair Studios? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a hairdresser and I specialize in hair color for example highlights, balayage, and ombres as well as hair cuts for all. I am proud of everything that I do as I love what I do for a living. I take pride in the service I provide and the happiness of my clients. I think the positive attitude I provide at my salon by putting my clients first is what makes me stand out. I also believe in using some of the best products available. I believe in the products that I use for my clients as it is the same products I use for myself and my family.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
Be patient in learning your craft and building your clients. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. Learn as much as you can from the people around you in what you should or shouldn’t do. You can learn by others mistakes so that you know not to do them yourself. Surround yourself with positivity.
