Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Hembergér.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Three years ago, I decided to invest my time in creating taboo makeup looks. Over the years, my artistic style has transformed and become much more defined. My goal is to create original content that demonstrates how makeup can be an art form.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been smooth. Self-doubt, fear of judgment, and showing your most vulnerable work can be very intimidating. My advice to all the fellow young artists out there: If you’re a comfortable artist, you’re not doing your job. Putting your work out should feel uncomfortable at times. Don’t let the number of likes you get on social media define your art.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Primarily, I do abstract makeup. Although, along this journey, I learned I had many more passions to follow. I dabble in writing poetry, journalism, styling, and creative directing.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
From as early as I can remember, I was surrounded by an artistic family. Every summer, I would go to my grandma’s house, who is a professional artist, and we would commence an art project after the art project. My artistic abilities shined through in the passing years when I decided to pick up some makeup brushes.
