Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Dixon.
Brandi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have been in the fitness industry in some form since my daughter was born 12 years ago. I always knew that I wanted to create an environment for her to love her body and view it as strong and powerful. I didn’t know that as I worked to do that, I would find my passion for helping other women do the same thing.
Over the past 12 years, I brought Stroller Strides to Mesa and Queen Creek, was a coach at Orange Theory and Fit Society in Chandler. In the past year, I have dedicated all of my time to personal training and nutrition coaching with Northington Fitness and Nutrition. I love working with people of all ages!
I want to create and foster a community for women like me to connect, inspire and grow with our families. Today, I see so many great resources for younger women or women of very small children. The more I looked, I realized that there isn’t a strong community for women in their late 30’s to 40’s to share and connect. I want to change that!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ha! I don’t think anything is ever a smooth road! At any given time, I am trying to juggle at least 3-4 different roles! I am a mom, wife, friend, entrepreneur, and fitness competitor. The thing is, I know my challenges are the same as every other woman! We are all trying to be and do all of the things. It is freaking hard, and honestly, it never gets “easy”. Why is adulting so hard?!
One thing I have learned is to prioritize time for myself and keep commitments to myself. This can be as simple as 5 minutes of meditation, sticking to a workout regime or entering all of my food into MyFitnessPal. Doing this for myself helps me to be a better human, wife, mother, and friend. When was the last time you did something that was purely selfish and just for yourself? If you can’t remember the last time; it is time for a change!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into your business story. Tell us more about the business.
My passion is to help other moms find their own strength and passion for health and nutrition. Most importantly, I want them to do so with their family. We have the opportunity to create an environment of self-love for our sons and daughters. We can show our daughters how to be a strong woman, and that the best way to do that is to rely on one another and support each other. We can show our sons to respect and love these strong women, to support them and empower them. Ok, now, I’ll step off my soapbox… I told you it was my passion!
This is what I feel really sets me apart from all the “fitness coaches” out there. For me, it is not about selling a generic program. It’s not about preying on a person’s desire to look better naked, or in a bathing suit. It is about creating something bigger, building healthy families, and ensuring women of my generation feel their very best as we age.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Absolutely! I don’t know if I can pinpoint an exact experience, but my parents always instilled in me a strong work ethic. Additionally, I was always driven by an internal desire to be the best at whatever I put my mind too. Now, this can backfire and lead to high levels of stress. It is often how I end up with a to-do list 9,000 feet long! It can also propel me forward, to never be satisfied with just ok, and always striving to be my very best. I know that hard work pays off, and my future success will be as a result of the hard work I am doing now!

Sooo proud of my baby girl. Brandi, YOU ROCK!! I love you, sweetheart! You have always pushed yourself to be the best you can be. From our first “Fun Run” in kindergarten, you pushed yourself (and me) to be the best we can be. You are my daughter, my inspiration, and my hero. I recently lost a total of 75 lbs because of your lifestyle and attitude.
I love you!!!
