Community Highlights: Meet Tyechia Gloser of Aura Rides Transport LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyechia Gloser.

Hi Tyechia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In my previous role as an ADH provider in Arizona, I observed that people with special needs, our elderly population, and others often struggle wit transportation. I also noticed a lack of kindness in the community. To address this, we established a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) service inn the Phoenix area.
Our goal is to assist not just senors but anyone who can move independently and enter and exit a can.

Currently, we do not provide rides for individuals in wheelchairs or those needing stretcher services.
However, we will offer these services in the future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a new non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) company presented several significant challenges.
First off we had to get our brand visible, and we had enough funding for any advertisement costs.
Second challenge or considerably our main challenges were ensuring compliance with regulations and navigating scheduling and logistics including technological integration into our website.
As a new NEMT provider one must navigate a complex web of state, and local regulations, including licensing, insurance, and certain healthcare insurance requirements. This involved extensive paperwork, regular vehicle inspections, and ensuring drivers meet specific qualifications (incl. background checks and drug testing), BLS Certification and CPR and First Aid Certifications also.
Implementing and integrating new technologies, such as dispatching and routing software into the website was a challenge for us.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about AURA RIDES TRANSPORT LLC?
A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) business plays a crucial role in healthcare by providing safe and reliable transport for individuals needing to reach medical appointments or facilities, but who don’t require emergency services. This often involves people who face transportation barriers due to physical limitations, lack of personal vehicles, or an inability to drive. We are most proud of the fact that we are a small business, I do not have an investor or business partner to rely on. If anyone is interested in booking a ride, we have our website or you can call us to book a ride for those who choose to not utilize technology resources. I am proud of this business since it is black and female owned.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Starting any business you take risks, purchasing a vehicle, renting a commercial suite space, and jumping into the unknown is a risk in itself.
