Community Highlights: Meet Tori Van Den Dungen Bille of Skincare by Tori

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Van Den Dungen Bille.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I begun my journey training to be a fire fighter, actually! I’ve always known I wanted to help people, but my body and brain are rarely on the same page. I made it through my EMT program, and a few other prerequisites for the fire academy before I realized my body wouldn’t be able to keep up. My knees are weak, my asthma is too bad, and on top of it all.. I have Crohns Disease! It may have halted that career, but I decided to try my “fun” career option instead- Aesthetics! The skincare industry is a true passion in my life, and I can help people in different ways. Making people feel beautiful inside and out is my favorite part. I hope to get into the oncology side of esthetics at some point, since making people feel better makes me feel better.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I may have touched on this part too much with the last question! Things in general have never been very smooth in my life. I lost my mother to cancer just a year before I started school at SWINA, which caused me to have sever panic attacks. I was also changing my career path, so my energy was a bit frazzled. Going into a very “energy-heavy” school at this time was very challenging. The energy work that I learned was crucial to my healing process! I had never given it the proper attention it deserved, and it truly changed my whole perspective.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I run a cozy, home-based spa that’s truly my pride and joy. The vibe? Witchy, feminine, and just a little silly—much like me! After nearly five years of honing my skills at European Wax Center, I decided to take the leap and go solo. Now, I specialize in full face and body waxing, and I’m equally passionate about facials that leave my clients glowing.

Affordability is a core value of mine—I’d rather make a little less upfront if it means building lasting relationships with clients. My goal is to make skincare sustainable, so that facials and high-quality products don’t feel like a luxury, but a regular part of self-care. Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is playing soccer with my step-dad. He worked night shifts as a police officer, so we didn’t get a ton of time together—but Saturday mornings were sacred. Even after a full night on duty, he’d stay up just for me, and I’d drag myself out of bed way earlier than I wanted to. He’d set up a little goal in the front yard and play goalie while I practiced my shots (he was surprisingly good at blocking them!). When that got old, we’d head to the field where he would absolutely destroy me in one-on-one matches. I wasn’t exactly known for my aggressive defense, but he was on a mission to change that—and honestly, it worked. I can hold my own now… at least physically!
