Community Highlights: Meet Tim Weiderhoft of Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Weiderhoft.

Hi Tim, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I met the original founder of Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade in 2017 and assisted in professionalizing the franchise model after years of experience with another local brand, Massage Envy, which gave us the opportunity to collaborate on the brand and its growth potential. After really enjoying what we were building, I decided to open a location with my wife Dena. We, decided to buy out the founder with a group of business partners to help strategically grow the business to new heights. With extensive operations, development, and franchising experience, our team has opened two Valley locations in 2020, Westgate and Peoria, and will open Surprise, Moon Valley, and Gilbert in the coming 18 months as well. In addition to the growth here in Arizona, we have opened up in Northern California and will have additional openings in Reno, El Dorado Hills, CA., Albuquerque, Dallas, San Antonio, and Tucson all in 2021.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like our awesome coach of the Phoenix Suns, Monty Williams says, “Everything you want is on the other side of hard.” So of course, there have been some bumps along the road but the joy of accomplishing something fun and exciting far outshines the bumps along the way. Growing a brand in the middle of a global pandemic has had some challenges, especially at the beginning, but our communities have been an amazing support to us. We are seeing amazing revenue numbers and growth here in the Valley.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade?
We are headquartered in Phoenix, but the brand started in Hawaii in 2013. We have grown from a trailer business to a thriving franchise concept that has eight locations domestically and two internationally in Japan. We will enter five new markets in 2021, Northern Nevada, Southern Nevada, Tucson, Dallas, and San Antonio, Texas. We are rooted deeply in our values which includes the desire to spread the “Spirit of Aloha” to all of our communities. In addition to our positive vibes, we strive to provide a customer experience that is enriched with all fresh, raw, food products that have a tropical vibe and taste to them. We want to inspire our customers to make healthier choices by providing a quick service, fun, environment that actually tastes and looks amazing.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade was originally birthed in the farmer’s markets and night markets of Hawaii. There was an immediate overwhelmingly positive response to these fresh and locally inspired tropical drinks, and the farmer’s market stand quickly turned into a handcrafted lemonade trailer on Maui. Demand continued to grow, and the trailer soon turned into a brick and mortar gourmet lemonade stand and juice bar on Maui serving craft acai bowls, cold brew coffee, superfood smoothies, healthy bites and infamous Mason Jar lemonades. Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade’s mission has been the same since our humble beginnings: To inspire and uplift our customers with a craft lemonade stand experience, by serving the tastiest fresh pressed lemonades, craft acai bowls, and healthy bites, while leaving a reduced environmental footprint for the next generation. In just a few years Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonades has expanded beyond a lemonade stand on Maui to a thriving concept on the mainland and internationally. Sticking to our roots, we continue to serve our fresh lemonades at the local farmer’s in every market we’re in.
