Teresa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2011, my husband Tony—deep in the mortgage world—needed a chiropractor and discovered The Joint Chiropractic in Scottsdale.
We’d always kept an eye out for a Plan B.
The Joint delivered.
We snapped up three licenses in Arizona’s West Valley, opening Avondale, Goodyear, and Surprise in 2011. Two more followed in 2013.
Fast-forward: 22 clinics total – Arizona (12), Idaho (7), and Spokane, WA (3).
Tony still runs his mortgage business full-time. I lead Operations with an incredible team.
We also own three Perspire Sauna Studios—one in Peoria and two in Utah—managed by our daughter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I learned that entrepreneurship will break you before it blesses you.
I was broken down in ways I didn’t know were possible before the rewards, the money, and the recognition ever showed up.
It killed the weak version of me and then rewarded me with a version that refuses to quit, BUT only because I became obsessed with the process, not the results.
And in the wreckage, I found my purpose: I now coach entrepreneurs and leaders to survive—and conquer—the brutal trenches of business.

I anticipate significant evolution in the franchise industry over the next 5–10 years, driven by technological integration, shifting consumer preferences, and heightened emphasis on operational resilience. Key trends include the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence for predictive analytics and personalized customer experiences, the rise of sustainable and health-focused franchise models, and increased consolidation through multi-unit ownership to achieve economies of scale. Additionally, leadership development will become a critical differentiator, as franchises grapple with talent retention and adaptive strategies amid economic volatility.
My coaching directly addresses these dynamics by resolving leadership bottlenecks, which contribute to 15–20% of Year 1 failures. Leveraging my experience in scaling 25 locations, I provide proven frameworks for multi-unit expansion.
