Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawnya Landis.
Hi Tawnya, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
On January 1, 2012, I decided it would be the last year I would write “Get Fit, Get Toned, Get Healthy” on my New Years’ Resolution List. I was done with the quick fixes which only gave me short-term results. I was done with not feeling great inside and out. I did not like the way I felt. I was tired of counting calories and to be honest I was sick of saying… someday, I will.
I wanted results that would last and also a realistic healthy lifestyle I could pass on to my kids! So with three little kids (2 who did not believe in sleep), I launched into my Fitness and Health journey. I created an online community and invited others to join me. Within 18 months with three little kids, I built a large corporation that has helped hundreds of women all over the US, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom.
Through this journey, I found my passion for helping others especially busy women get healthy, fit, and confident! As a mom of 3, I know it can be hard to find time but I also know it can be done. I also know it can enhance your life rather than burden it if done right! There are so many options and information out there about losing weight, getting fit, and how to eat this, and not that. It is confusing! It is not one size fits all we are all different and have different schedules.
My job as a coach is to keep it simple for you and to help you find balance and meet your goals!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a rollercoaster but being in business for yourself is a rollercoaster! I always say buckle up your seatbelt and let’s go! I have had challenges along the way but I look at those challenges as opportunities for growth. One of my biggest challenges was time management. I started with a 1, 3, and 7 year old and now they are older but they still have needs.
Being a parent and in business, you have to learn to be flexible and adjust your schedule. Also, I am very strict with setting up my priorities, saying yes to what aligns with those priorities, and saying no to what does not align. It is not always easy but at the end of the day, it is what truly works best for me. I have become a master at focusing on what is most important, especially on days where it feels like there just are not enough hours in the day!
I am in my forties and I have found in life we will always have challenges no matter what path we take. So why not take the path we are passionate about and fuel our souls. This business and working with women all over and helping them with their health and fitness goals is just amazing! I love helping women see and step into what they want.
It is so much more than a physical journey!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in helping women feel their best and most confident selves inside and out. I help them set up realistic fitness routines at home or in the gym and teach them how to properly fuel their bodies! No more fad diets or yoyo dieting!
I do not believe in depriving yourself of and restricting calories or carbs. Clients come to me with their goals and I provide a roadmap to help them get their desired results. I have online accountability groups and one-to-one mentoring.
I also teach others how to set up their own fitness business. Life is too short to not feel your best and live out your dreams!
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is hanging out with my dad in our backyard. I am originally from Oregon and we had a huge property with a big yard, green lush grass, and lots of trees!
It was so much fun to run the length of the property, especially during the summer!
