Community Highlights: Meet Scott Yanni of Kactus Jock & Kactus Jock Rydables Tours

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Yanni.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have spent 35 years in the hospitality restaurant business, mainly fine dining, steakhouses & wine bars. I was looking for a change. In late 2020 my friends who own Kactus Jock stores in Old Town Scottsdale approached me about an opportunity, they were going to expand the retail stores by adding Scottsdale tours. They have a partnership with Rydables, who were looking to expand their brand and reach from zoos and malls into fun Rydables Tours. After several conversations I joined Kactus Jock to head up their tour division. We now offer three fun, fact filled Rydables tours in Old Town Scottsdale. This was the first Rydables Tour in the states. Now there are Rydables in Texas, California, Florida, Idaho, North Carolina and growing. It’s great to see how many people just smile when they are on our tours.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting anything new always has challenges. Mainly just getting the word out about who & what
we are and what we offer.
Why we are a one of a kind, unique fun experience.
Once we were able recognized, word of mouth and social media helped.

As you know, we’re big fans of Kactus Jock & Kactus Jock Rydables Tours. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Kactus Jock has been a staple of Old Town Scottsdale retail for almost 40 years. We offer gifts from all over Arizona, with many local artists. We also have a print shop in both stores so we can print shirts on the spot.
Our Kactus Jock Rydables Tours officially was up and running in February of 2021.
We offer a five mile historical and public art tour of Old Town Scottsdale.
You see all the historical & hot spots with lot of picture opportunities.
Our tours are great for any age and any occasion. It’s fun, safe, and they best way to see and get around Old Town. It’s Miles of Smiles every time.
We offer day and evening tours and even a Scottsdale Public Art & AZ Wine Tour. That one is 21 and over.
We are proud of the great one of a kind experience we offer along with our historical accuracy. We are also proud partners with the City of Scottsdale and their Exceptionally Scottsdale program.

What’s next?
Our tours are always changing and adapting to what is happening in Old Town, There is always a new story to tell or a new piece of art to be seen. We look forward to every one who visits Arizona or lives here to come and enjoy a Kactus Jock Rydables Tour.
