Hi Ramona, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all began as a simple hobby, really. I loved experimenting with different looks, spending hours watching tutorials and practicing on myself and friends. The more I did it, the more people noticed and started asking for my help for their events. That’s when it clicked, I could actually turn this passion into something more.

I started small, doing freelance gigs here and there, building my portfolio and reputation. Word of mouth was my best friend. I invested in quality products and continued to hone my skills by practicing even more. Slowly but surely, the demand grew, and I was able to turn my side hustle into a full-time business.

Today, I’m running my own home studio, working with amazing people and feeling incredibly grateful for the journey. I am also about to move into a store in the next few weeks. It wasn’t always easy, but the passion and support from my clients kept me going. Now, I can confidently say that I’m living my dream, doing what I love every single day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles was balancing the creative passion with the business side of things. Initially, I was so focused on the artistry that I neglected important aspects like marketing, client management, and finances, I still haven’t figured it all out but it is better than it used to. Learning to juggle all those responsibilities was tough. Another challenge was building a consistent client base. It took time to establish a reputation and get my name out there, especially in a competitive industry. There were moments of doubt and uncertainty, but each challenge taught me valuable lessons and helped me grow, both as an artist and as a business owner.

Building a business isn’t always easy, and there will inevitably be setbacks and challenges along the way. However, it’s how you respond to those obstacles that ultimately determines your success. Learning to bounce back from failures, adapt to changing market trends, and stay true to your vision is crucial. It’s also important to surround yourself with a supportive peers and friends who can offer guidance and encouragement during tough times. Ultimately, it’s the ability to persevere and keep learning that will set you apart and help you achieve your goals.
