My Journey to Lifeline Learning Academy: A Passion for Education & Healthcare
My name is Rachel, and I am the proud owner of Lifeline Learning Academy. As a 42-year-old Black woman with over 25 years of experience in the medical field, I have dedicated my career to serving others in various healthcare roles. From patient care to administrative positions, I’ve seen firsthand the impact that quality medical professionals have on their communities.

After spending four years teaching a medical assistant program at a vocational school, I realized there was a greater need for affordable and accessible education in the healthcare industry. I saw students struggling to afford tuition, juggling multiple responsibilities, and searching for opportunities that could change their lives. That’s when I knew—I had to create something better, more accessible, and community-focused.

I started with CPR training, launching my business to educate people about heart health and life-saving skills. I wanted to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, could learn how to save a life—whether in their homes, workplaces, or communities. But I didn’t stop there.

Just six months later, I expanded by opening a Phlebotomy school, giving individuals the opportunity to earn a certification and start a stable, rewarding career in healthcare—without the overwhelming burden of high tuition costs. At Lifeline Learning Academy, our mission is to empower the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing high-quality, hands-on training at an affordable price.

I built this academy with the belief that education should be a lifeline, not a financial burden. I wanted to give back to my community, create real career opportunities, and help individuals step into the medical field with confidence.

Today, Lifeline Learning Academy continues to grow, and I remain committed to helping students achieve their dreams. Whether through CPR certification, Phlebotomy training, or future programs, my goal is to educate, inspire, and uplift those who are ready to make a difference in healthcare.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Challenges & Overcoming Them in Lifeline Learning Academy Increasing Student Enrollment – One of the biggest challenges has been spreading awareness and ensuring that more students take advantage of the affordable education we offer. In a competitive market, getting students to see the value of hands-on training and career advancement has required strategic marketing, community outreach, and word-of-mouth referrals.

Encouraging Businesses to Complete CPR Training – While many companies recognize the importance of CPR certification, getting them to commit and follow through with training sessions has been an ongoing challenge. I’ve had to focus on educating businesses about the life-saving benefits of CPR training and how it creates a safer workplace for employees and customers alike.

Balancing Growth & Passion – Unlike many businesses that struggle with finances or management, my biggest challenge has been making sure growth doesn’t take away from the passion that started it all. I never want Lifeline Learning Academy to feel like “just a business.” It’s a mission, a lifeline for students who need opportunities.

Despite these challenges, my love for what I do makes every effort worth it. Seeing students graduate, earn their certifications, and start their medical careers is far more rewarding than any obstacle I’ve encountered. Every challenge is just another opportunity to expand, improve, and impact more lives.
