Community Highlights: Meet Qadirah Russell of NotSweetMusicEntertainment & ResinAlchemyDesign

Today we’d like to introduce you to Qadirah Russell. 

Qadirah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a self-motivated and self-supported business operator. My inspiration comes from the motivated drive I have to be able to successfully support my children more easily and the love for performing arts and art/music expression. Currently, I have established two small businesses. 

The first business brand name is NotSweetMusicEntertainment, which is a collective of music producers/writers whom I dedicate my time and energy in promoting and trying to orchestrate booking opportunities for. The artists I represent are within a multitude of various music genre interests, from classical jazz, to hip hop, to EDM. Under my brand NotSweetMusicEntertainment I host underground music events open to all adults whom buy tickets/pay door fee to enter the events. This business was solely created for my love of music and shows/festivals and to try and support musicians who dream to perform and get their music heard. 

The second business I own is called ResinAlchemyDesign; this brand is my art&painting brand. I create and sell resin epoxy items such as home decor accessories, jewelry, and other oddities, as well as paint original acrylic canvas art. 

My goal is to one day build an enterprise business and combine my love for art and music into one and own a property that I can run a storefront out of that also has an area to have my own music venue space. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning businesses has been a rough road in between being a mother of 3 boys and fitting in time, but also having to support both businesses financially 100% from my own pocket, no loans, no partner.

I am always looking for opportunities to book the artists I represent for paid shows and better ways to help their artist exposure. I am also in pursuit of collecting a small group of people who have a true love for performing arts whom would like to become part of my business operations team members. The best things happen when people can come together for the love of an interest of goal and help raise each other get to their potential. 

The second business I own is called ResinAlchemyDesign; this brand is my art&painting brand. I create and sell resin epoxy items such as home decor accessories, wire wrapped jewelry, and other oddities, as well as paint original acrylic canvas art. Creating and design is a great outlet for myself, and others being able to appreciate my work and enjoy my art is a blessing.

NotSweetMusicEntertainment is looking for people to join to the business operations team and help the this brand to the next level. 

Any network connections to agencies whom book musicians/producers/DJs for shows and paid contracts is always appreciated and sought out to help me help, help reach the artists I work with towards their goals. 

Donations to help fund NotSweetMusicEntertainment Events would be highly appreciated. It takes a lot of equipment and planning to host events at venues and music events are important for both the artists and the community in which it helps bring together through the love and appreciation of music. 

The best way to support ResinAlchemyDesign is by ordering my items and continuing to support my art while helping me maintain all the supplies I need for them.
