Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Molina

Hi Paige, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started getting spray tans during my years at Arizona State University. I fell in love with the feeling of being confident in my skin with a perfect bronze tan all year round so when the opportunity to work at my favorite spray tanning salon became available, I jumped at the chance. I have always pictured myself owning a business but never imagined it would be a spray tan salon. My passion for the business and art of spray tanning grew and before you know it, I took over ownership of The Bronze Bar. Nearly three years later, we are looking forward to opening more locations in the valley. (Specific locations and opening dates TBD!)

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Becoming a business owner has definitely been a learning experience- there have been a lot of bumps in the road while I navigate this role. There have been struggles through the past few years but I like to take it as a growth opportunity. I reflect often on what works, what doesn’t, and how we can further improve. Between the pandemic, customer experiences, and employee relationships, owning a business certainly has its challenging moments.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Bronze Bar is a spray tanning salon located in the heart of Scottsdale. We specialize is strictly spray tans- no beds, no booths! Our staff is trained to help our clients reach their ideal level of tan in one session by spraying them with a color customized for each individual. Our clients’ need for tanning ranges from weekly tans to maintain a perfect glow year-round or simply just for special occasions or vacations. We are known for providing the best tans in Scottsdale! Orange, streaky, and splotchy are not in our vocabulary. We are proud to be one of (if not THE) highest ranking tanning salons in our area on Yelp. Not only will you get a top-notch spray tan, you will absolutely love our staff. We consider our clients family and I truly believe the relationships we form with our clients are what sets us apart from the rest. The most important thing for potential clients to know is that spray tans are for EVERYBODY. When you walk into The Bronze Bar, you are in a judgement free zone. We welcome everyone with open arms that is ready to get their tan on! There is no need to feel insecure in your body when you are in our salon. Speaking from personal experience, having a spray tan boosts my self-confidence and I want each and every person to feel the same when they leave The Bronze Bar with a glow coming from the inside out. Seeing how far this salon has come since taking ownership is what fuels my fire to keep growing. I feel that we have been so resilient through the trials of last year. We have been working to elevate our client experience from the moment you schedule online to the moment you rinse your tan. I want each client to feel as confident as I did after that first spray tan. I would say what I’m most proud of is the community we have built. We spray tan so many small business owners, moms, service members, nurses, the list goes on. These incredible women and men are who allow us to do what we do each day and we love that we get to support them through their lives as they continue to support us and our dreams!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Taking ownership of an already successful salon is one of the only things that played a part in my business that I would consider “lucky”. With that being said, being a new owner made me feel the need to prove myself that much more; that I deserved it, that I was capable, and that I could grow the business even more all while providing a luxury experience for our new and returning clients. I think the word luck gets tossed around especially looking from the outside in, however it is so much more than that. A lot of people don’t see all of the work that goes on behind the scenes.
