Today we’d like to introduce you to Niamh Davis.

Niamh Davis

Niamh, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2019, I experienced a pivotal year that taught me the profound truth behind the saying, ‘Be careful what you ask for.’ I sought change, and my life was completely upended. During this time, my relationship ended, I was let go from a job I had dedicated 5 years to, and I witnessed a traumatic motorcycle accident that paused my pursuit of a Nursing Degree. It felt like everything that could go wrong did. Lost and seeking direction, I made the decision to fully surrender, turning to God and the universe for guidance and answers.

My journey into tattooing was unexpected, and I initially resisted. However, after a few months, I chose to set aside my reservations and embrace the path, taking my first PMU class to explore this new avenue. The rest, as they say, is history. I am deeply grateful for this unexpected journey. It has not only allowed me to create a safe space for others but also to artistically express myself while positively and profoundly helping others.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey has been one of profound personal and professional growth. Amidst the highs and lows, I have learned to adapt, adjust, and overcome obstacles. One of my most significant personal challenges has been overcoming shyness. Specializing in Paramedical Tattooing—particularly scar camouflage, stretch mark camouflage, and Areola/nipple restoration—requires regular interactions and collaborations with physicians and other healthcare providers.

Initially, the prospect of engaging with healthcare professionals was daunting, often triggering fear. It was a conversation with my older sister, a doctor that shifted my perspective. She simply asked, ‘Niamh, what are you afraid of? That they might like you?’ Her words became a catalyst for change. Whenever fear creeps in during these interactions, I recall my sister’s encouragement, empowering me to step beyond my comfort zone and forge meaningful connections in the healthcare community.
