Today we’d like to introduce you to Mari Dejesus.

Mari, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin? 
I started my waxing journey 4 years ago and instantly fell in love with the craft! I immediately enrolled in esthetician school started offering services out of my house to know a salon suite! In 2024 I will open my very first salon storefront! I’m constantly growing in this industry and hope to inspire other girls to open their own business as well! 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The hardest part for me in this business journey is finding the PERFECT storefront business to invest in. There’s so many things to take into consideration when picking a storefront- pricing, remodeling, location, distance from my last suite, etc. I’m such a perfectionist and want my few storefront to be perfect for my current and future clients. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Beauty Lounge. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a licensed esthetician who specializes in Brazilian waxing! I’m known for being a speed waxer getting my girls’ coochies BALD! Unlike other known waxing chains, I educate my clients on proper aftercare, appropriate appointment scheduling, how to treat their ingrown at home and have better wax results in the future! I take my time to tweeze any leftover hairs and extract ALL ingrown at every appointment with no extra charge. I like my girls leaving their wax appointment hairless, knowing they got their money’s worth! 

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In 5-10 years, I hope to have a few amazing service providers helping me with my clientele base! I’d love to have a one-stop shop at Beauty Lounge where a women can come in and leave with a fresh wax, lashes, nails, etc.!
