Hi Madhu, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am an accountant by profession but got interested in technology at the dawn of the internet. I worked as an accountant for a private firm, but I wanted to start my own business to have the flexibility and raise my family. I started doing research and Found the WSI Internet Consulting franchise. I saw WSI as a great opportunity as I figured every business would need a website and do online marketing to get more leads and sales from their website. I became WSI certified consultant in 2000. I am passionate about helping businesses maximize their online presence. I have helped companies in all industry verticals for the last 20 years with their websites, SEO, and Social Media marketing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I won’t say it was a smooth road. Every person is going to experience some challenges when they decide to be an entrepreneur. I came from an accounting background with no sales training. Getting clients and building my network was the most formidable challenge, but I was determined to make it work. I am very hard working and the kind of person who doesn’t give up easily. I started reading books on networking and building relationships. I started to get involved in my local community. I joined my local chambers of commerce to network with other like-minded business owners. I became involved in women in leadership groups and met so many empowered women along the way. Most of my business comes from digital marketing and referrals from networking groups and my existing clients. I believe in building long-term relationships with my clients and go above and beyond what I promise them. So, I will say if you have patience, perseverance, and explicit action-oriented goals, you can achieve anything in life. I feel accomplished when I see my client’s business grow to the next level with my services.
