Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Allen. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Jon Allen has always exhibited a passion for cooking. Upon graduating from college, he decided to make his dream a reality. He moved to Phoenix in 2009 and began his cooking career by running a neighborhood sports bar kitchen. He was then able to quickly progress to working in a Scottsdale steak house and several luxury resorts, including the Phoenician and Arizona Biltmore. With his expertise, Jon recently helped open two Hilton hotels. He also became the Executive Chef for a local catering company that hosted all the concerts for Live Nation. Each experience expanded Jon’s breadth of knowledge, which ultimately allowed him to create Healthy Chef Phx in August 2018.
Healthy Chef Phx is made up of the most knowledgeable and hardworking individuals in the food industry with over 80 years of combined experience. As the Founder and Head Chef of Healthy Chef Phx, Jon’s aim is to bring flavor and variety to the local health food market and catering industry. Twice a week, Healthy Chef Phx delivers fresh, fully cooked meals to your door with each week’s meals different than the last. Healthy Chef Phx can tailor the meal plan to specific macros or any dietary restrictions with meals like “Coconut Curry Chicken” and “Mahi Mahi Tacos.” Whether you are a family with picky eaters, an on-the-go bachelor, or a gym rat with a strict eating regiment, they have you covered.
Over the last 3+ years, Healthy Chef PHX has expanded its offerings within the valley, to include the hottest new breakfast spot in north phoenix, Aimee’s Swine House, as well as becoming to go-to catering company for private air flights with JetFare Catering!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
2020! I think it goes without saying, that 2020 was a terrible year! So many people were affected in so many different ways. We were very fortunate that when the shelves went barren at grocery stores, we were able to help. We initially had a 7-meal minimum order, but eliminated that and reduced it to 1 meal. We were able to donate thousands of meals to elderly people, nurses, first responders, and those who couldn’t leave their homes due to underlying health issues. It was a very trying year, but thankfully everyone on our team came through when it mattered the most!

We are one of Arizona`s top meal prep companies! We started in 2018 serving the north valley. As business started to pick up, we slowly expanded our service area, and now delivery valley-wide, every Sunday and Wednesday! We create new, exciting, healthy meals that are delivered fresh to your door! Just 2 minutes in the microwave and you are ready to eat.
We use only fresh, raw, organic-ish (as much as we are able to source) products. Nothing is ever frozen. Unlike other companies out there, our veggies are cut by hand, roasted, and taste amazing.
