Community Highlights: Meet John Bishop Jones of Bishop 57 Studio Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Bishop Jones.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey really started with a leap of faith. I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but I moved to Phoenix in February 2010 looking for a fresh start and new opportunities. At the time, I didn’t realize that my ‘neighbor’—who eventually became my wife in 2012—would be such a foundational part of my support system as I chased my dreams.
I’ve always been a storyteller at heart, but I didn’t officially pick up a camera until 2014. I am entirely self-taught; I spent countless hours learning the technical side of lighting, composition, and editing through trial and error and a lot of late nights. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a deep passion and then a career. Filming everything from wedding, events, and concerts to Music video, documentary, and live streams. My current passion for vlogging and capturing authentic moments led me to create personal content that inspires others. I wanted to share my journey with the world and teach what I know.
Over the last decade, that passion to help others grew my business and platform. Today, I manage social media accounts for multiple companies. Which allows me to film passion projects like short films and documentaries. It’s been an incredible ride going from filming solo projects to helping large-scale creators bring their visions to life.
For me, the goal has always been about balance. Whether I’m behind the lens for a major production, out on my E-bike, camping, or spending time with my daughter, I’m constantly focused to give thanks to The Lord for allowing me to achieve happiness and success. I got to where I am today by staying consistent, staying curious, and never losing sight of the story I wanted to tell.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any entrepreneur can honestly say the road has been perfectly smooth. For me, the biggest hurdle hasn’t necessarily been the technical side of filmmaking—it’s been the ‘people’ side.
Finding the right people has been a major challenge throughout my journey. When you’re as passionate as I am about the quality and the ‘vibe’ of a project, it’s tough to find individuals who share that same level of dedication. This applies to both finding the right clients who value your vision and, more importantly, finding the right teammates to help grow the company. As a videographer, your team is an extension of your eyes and ears, so building a crew that I can trust to maintain the same standard has taken a lot of trial and error.
Beyond the hiring side, there was also the initial struggle of being self-taught. In the beginning, there’s no roadmap. You’re balancing a full-time life, being a husband and a father, and trying to master a craft that is constantly changing with new technology. There were plenty of late nights where I had to choose between sleep and finishing an edit that I knew had to be perfect.
But I’ve always believed that the vision isn’t just about the goal—it’s about blocking out the distractions and the setbacks to keep moving forward. Every challenge with a client or a teammate has just taught me more about how to run a better business and how to appreciate the solid team I’m building now.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Bishop 57 Studio Productions?
At the core of my business is a commitment to high-level storytelling through videography and photography. While I wear many hats, I specialize in digital content creation and YouTube production. I’m known for my ability to capture the authentic ‘vibe’ of a creator’s life or brand and translate that into a polished, engaging visual story. Currently, I serve as the lead videographer and Editor for over seven different very successful Businesses. Where I also post content to social media using the algorithm to target their ideal client.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my ‘Tunnel Vision’ philosophy. I don’t just show up and hit record; I immerse myself in the project to ensure the final product reflects the creator’s true heart and message. Being self-taught has given me a unique edge—I’m not boxed in by ‘traditional’ rules. I’m agile, I understand the technical demands of the YouTube algorithm, and I know how to balance professional-grade production with the raw, relatable feel that audiences crave today.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the trust I’ve built within the creator community. In the world of social media, your brand is your life, and having these major channels trust me to capture their most important moments is the highest compliment I could receive. I’m also incredibly proud of my own channel, Bishops Tunnel Vision, which serves as a living portfolio of my journey and my passion for vlogging.
I want your readers to know that whether I’m working on a large-scale production or a personal passion project, my goal is always the same: Quality and Balance. I offer full-scale videography and photography services, but more than that, I offer a partnership. I’m here to help creators and businesses block out the noise and focus on their specific vision to achieve their version of success

What’s next?
Looking ahead, I’m focused on expanding my brand in a few major ways. First, I’m at a point where I want to teach what I know on a larger scale. I’ve spent years mastering the craft of videography through trial and error, and I’m passionate about helping the next generation of creators skip the ‘guessing game’ and get straight to creating quality content.
On the production side, I’ve always been a fan of high-level storytelling, and a huge goal of mine is to transition into filming for major television networks. I would love to bring my lens to networks like National Geographic or The History Channel. There’s something powerful about documenting the world and our history, and I’m ready to take that ‘tunnel vision’ focus to a global stage.
But above all else, my future plans are centered around purposeful growth. I want to continue filming the things I truly enjoy while maintaining the lifestyle I’ve worked so hard to build. For me, success isn’t just about a bigger paycheck; it’s about having the freedom to take more trips, make more memories, and spend quality time with my wife and daughter.
I’m looking forward to evolving from a videographer into a mentor and explorer—sharing the world through my eyes while making sure I’m fully present for the people who matter most.”
