Community Highlights: Meet Jenn Milner of Asphalt Restoration Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Milner.

Hi Jenn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Asphalt Restoration Services is a locally owned, family-operated paving and maintenance company that’s been serving the Phoenix area for over 20 years. Jason and I are both Phoenix locals, and we purchased the business from our good friend Tom Black a few years ago We still employ the team of asphalt experts that he started the company with. Tom passed away shortly after we took over and we are working to carry on his legacy of quality, integrity, and customer service. When a customer calls, they’re speaking directly with one of us — Jason, Gary, or myself — and we walk with them through the entire process, from the first idea to project completion. We work with everyone from homeowners and property managers to schools and large corporations, and no job is too big or too small!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business definitely comes with challenges — from maintaining work/life balance to navigating market shifts. But we truly love what we do. Whether it’s tearing out curbing to install an ADA ramp for accessibility, applying sealcoat for that “wow” factor, or adding speed humps in a neighborhood to improve safety, we know our work makes a positive difference in the communities that we serve. That impact is what keeps us motivated, even through the challenges.

We’ve been impressed with Asphalt Restoration Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Asphalt Restoration Services is a locally owned, family-operated business serving the Phoenix area for over two decades. We specialize in paving, crack sealing, sealcoating, striping and painting, asphalt repairs such as pothole patching, and concrete services including bollard installation, ADA ramps, and speed humps. What sets us apart is our commitment to quality, integrity, and personalized service — when you call, you’ll speak directly with one of us, and we’ll be with you every step of the way from project idea to completion. While many companies focus on volume, we focus on relationships and delivering work that’s built to last. Our customers know they can count on us for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and care that goes beyond the pavement.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Jason has been an entrepreneur since childhood. At just 10 years old, while his friends were busy with Game Boys, he was running a small landscaping business and repairing vehicles for neighbors. Jenn grew up on a farm in South Texas where she developed a lifelong love of animals that she’s carried to Arizona, now raising chickens and ducks. A musician at heart, she enjoys singing and playing bass guitar. Jenn earned a Master’s in Public Administration and spent 20 years as a market researcher and data analyst before shifting her focus to business ownership and development.
