Community Highlights: Meet Jeff Edouard of Flox Customs LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Edouard.

Hi Jeff, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I started Flox Customs in 2013, I wanted to create a sock that represented cultures, states, cities and countries. Flox is an abbreviation of “Flag Sox”. I just merged the FL & OX and created FLOX. The whole purpose is to create a sock that would make people proud of where they came from or the organization that they work for. In 2017, I went through some hardship on trying to balance a full – time job and operate a business. I had a stream of bad luck and was laid off three times in one year and while my wife and I were planning on a wedding that same year. I had to make a decision and shut my business down and refocused on getting a job. After a year, I just couldn’t stop thinking about my business. I knew I had something special. If I wanted to revive my business, I needed to work on myself mentally, physically, and spiritually. This is something I needed to do.

So I had to reprogram my thought process, sought out a tribe of mentors, and read tons of self-help books. Late 2018, I knew was ready to come back. I created a new name which is Flox Customs and recreated the first sock design “Copper State”. Early 2019, I wanted to focus more on custom designs. I was able to land a partnership with Heavy Duty Headsets and provided their first custom sock designs. Shortly after, we acquired a partnership with Carvana. Now in 2021, we have approximately twenty accounts and we been in three retail stores.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working on your dreams is never smooth. It doesn’t matter where you start in my opinion. You will always have challenges. However, I didn’t have a lot of capitol to start. I had no connections to manufacturers to speak to or even trust. I had a little savings that I could work with. One thing that worked for me was my persistence, faith, and determination to make it work. No matter what the obstacles. Here’s a list of Obstacles that I’ve encountered: Lack of funds, no business background, other people’s perception of me, lack of support, making tons of mistakes, product defects, balancing marriage, full-time gig, and business, wearing multiple hats for the business, Self-doubt etc. The list goes on. But I knew adversity builds character and one day I could overcome these obstacles.

As you know, we’re big fans of Flox Customs LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a sock company that creates custom socks for various organizations. The socks that we provide are performance and dress socks. Our partners either use their socks as a promotional item, to build their brand, teams to wear during their games. What set us apart from others is that we want to work with everyone. We believe in every single partner we acquire. We want to see them win! I see value in every partner or retail we work with. It does not matter how big or small the organization, every one of them matter in this economy. We a partnered with Carvana, State Forty Eight, Gila River Hotels & Casinos, Valley Metro, Knight Transportation, Bicycle Nomad, Blxck Noise, Sibley’s West, Knapps barbershop, Arizona state Capitol Museum store, Chandler Museum store, and United Food Bank and more. The proudest brand wise for us is that for every purchase on our retail page, portions of the proceeds go towards the united Food Bank. I came from a hunger background and I know first-hand experience about struggle and food Insecurity. One of my purpose in life is give back if I am able and to look out for others as much as possible.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was playing street tackle football and especially in the snow with my friends.
