Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Leviyev.
Hi Isabella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I’ve been living in Phoenix since 2015. I moved here with my family from NYC and loved every minute since! I’ve been a PA for over 15 years, starting out in hospital medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. I really got to see the best and worst of medicine while there. I spent over 7 years treating acute patients from all walks of life and realized that conventional medicine while great for acute care, definitely is lacking for chronic conditions. I began to see patients come in through the”revolving door” of the hospital, never truly getting better, only stabilized in their acute presentation. I realized more and more that conventional medicine is all about treating the symptoms and rarely gets to the root cause of the disease. In my research, I further learned the importance of eating whole foods, proper supplementation, and the role of chronic inflammation in the body. As I was learning more about holistic medicine, I realized I could not practice the conventional way anymore – it was too painful to see my patients coming back every couple of months getting worse and worse and knowing that I wasn’t treating them adequately.
Due to the high cost of living in NYC and with a family of 3 kids, we decided to move to Phoenix. Unwilling to go against my beliefs, I refused to take a position in regular conventional medicine and found myself in a chiropractic position performing natural pain management and wellness care. I was in love with my newfound career and knew I was making an impact on my patients. I discussed ways to lower inflammation decrease stress and corrective healing modalities of chiropractic care. My patients flourished and so did I. I have finally found my place! I quickly became proficient in trigger point injection therapy and my patients loved my hands! I found working with my hands to be very rewarding and this past summer decided to start in the field of aesthetics. I was already making an impact getting my patients to feel better with my injections – it was time to make them look better too!
I started to take courses in aesthetics and a whole new world opened up to me! I love treating my patients whether it’s with botox/fillers or just great skincare advice. It is so satisfying to see their faces light up when we completed a treatment. However, I know very well that if we only focus on the external, the beauty will only be skin deep! With my extensive background in holistic and functional health, I can truly guide them in bringing their inner beauty out! Seeing my passion for aesthetics and holistic health, I decided it was time for me to take the next step and open my own practice and that’s how Blessed Beauty Boutique was born!
I am eternally grateful for my job experiences in both the conventional and natural world and I am proud to call myself an integrative provider. There is definitely a time and place for both aspects of medicine but it is crucial to know when to use which. Combined with aesthetics, I really can bring out the best in my patients and bring them to their optimal goals.
I’m a proud mama of 6 kids including twin boys and am part of my community. My husband is a Rabbi and works with Jewish youth in the community. We are so cognizant of God’s blessings and know that nothing is possible without them which is the reason I named my business Blessed Beauty Boutique. In fact, I say a quick prayer before I treat every patient that I provide exceptional treatment and results!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a business always has challenges. Whether it’s administrative issues or practical ones like supply issues that result in not getting products, issues come up.
I think it’s very important to not let that bring you down and to keep yourself focused on the long term. Why am I here? What Is my goal? How can I improvise and innovate in this situation? These are the questions I ask myself when things don’t go as planned.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My practice blends wellness and aesthetics focusing on optimizing both. Without proper fundamentals in nutrition and supplements, it will be very hard and defeating to only focus on the externals. Sure, botox and fillers will look good for some time but that’s only skin deep. I am looking to provide lasting results by building the foundation first.
I discuss inflammation with all of my patients and the importance of properly hydrating and eating whole foods. My background in functional/holistic and conventional medical systems gives me a unique approach to treatment. I feel competent to use both modalities in treating my patients. When a patient comes to me for an aesthetic treatment, I discuss their goals and dig deeper to talk about their other symptoms such as fatigue, hair loss, rashes, and digestive issues. Many of these patients have been seen by their regular providers and told “your labs are fine and nothing is wrong.” It is extremely disconcerting for patients to not be validated and think their symptoms are in their heads. A lot of things are “subclinical” and unfortunately, the standard medical system has not trained providers to recognize this. In my holistic training, I have been taught to read lab work differently than a standard provider and have developed treatment plans based on nutraceuticals.
Currently, some of the services I offer include functional medicine consultations, neuromodulators/fillers, microneedling, weight loss, hair regeneration, trigger point therapy/red light therapy, B12 injections, PRP/F and medical-grade skincare. I will be offering more services in the near future so stay tuned!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Integrity and humility- being honest with my patients and keeping my word.
I find that when you show others that you may not know everything but will do your best to find out, you develop more trust in that relationship. The worst characteristic in my opinion is arrogance. Even if you are good at what you do, no one wants to deal with you if you are condescending and full of yourself.
