Community Highlights: Meet Gerald Taylor of Quick Fit 360

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerald Taylor.

Hi Gerald, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been involved in sports my entire life. I was a three-sport athlete and eventually earned a 4-year scholarship to a Division I University, in wrestling. I achieved All-American status twice and earned my degree. Once I finished school and my athletic career, I joined the workforce, like many other people in my position.  I quickly found out I could either work for someone else or utilize my own skill-set and blaze my own trail.

Of course, this realization did not happen overnight. It took me nearly 20 years, and half as many jobs to figure out that I had the skills, drive, and talent to provide for myself and my family on my own merits. The first thing I did was open my own income-generating endeavor, an independent insurance agency. This allowed me to build a book of business that was residual in nature and allowed me the flexibility to pursue other opportunities.

My next decision was to spend part of that time doing what I love most, being with my family, and coaching athletes, helping them realize their own potential in their specific sport. I focused on wrestling but did not limit my efforts to just one sport.

While helping others work to achieve their goals, I found there were gaps in development that were being overlooked by conventional coaching methods, or there simply wasn’t enough time to cover these areas in the limited time given to most coaches. With this in mind and with plenty of hours of research already done, I came up with an idea to solve one of the problems I witnessed most often.

Along with the support of a mentor and friend, I invented an exercise product to solve the problem identified.  In the process of solving the one problem, I realized my invention helped improve many more areas of development across multiple sports. My product is called QuickFit360 and it is the best circular agility ladder on the market today. It is a solid-state circular agility ladder, that lays flat, holds its shape, and folds to allow the user to work in small spaces and at different angles.

The QuickFit360 can also be used as a bodyweight exercise device for condition, balance, and strength in addition to its primary function of speed/agility. My product is patented, carries a registered Trademark, and is sold online via our website (www.quickfit360.com), on Amazon, as well as on Facebook, and Instagram. You can see the product for yourself at https://linktr.ee/QuickFit360 for all our social media offerings.

The QuickFit360 is the new mouse trap on the market, it will increase athletic performance in less time with only a single piece of equipment.  This cuts down on cost and time and produces results that are duplicatable and measurable. It’s not called the QuickFit360 for nothing!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting to this point did not come easy. The process of inventing a product itself is challenging. Your idea has to be new or at least novel. It has to solve a problem that has not been solved before, and it has to be attractive to the consumer. Easy, right? You also have to do your own research before investing time and energy in something that may already be on the market.

This can be a time and dream killer if the product already exists. Not to mention that your research may not reveal a product that has been patented already, a costly mistake to make. The research and development hours that go in to make sure your product is effective, safe, and market-ready is also very time-consuming, and can get expensive.

And then there is the cost and time element of patenting and trademarking a product. If you have never done this it is an adventure that some may not want to sign up for. Although demanding, I am glad we did because the experience was invaluable. Overall, it took three years to go from an idea/concept to and tangible product that was ready for market.

Three years, countless hours of building and rebuilding, testing and developing, and now we have a product that is ready for the public. We just won the lottery, right? Wrong! We now have to find, build, or invent a market to sell our product. This was nearly as hard as all that came before. “If you build it they will come,” does not apply to selling products.

Each person has their own unique way of looking at what they spend their money on and the QuickFit360 was no exception to that rule. The sales process was slow and painful and forced me to muster up every bit of strength and courage I had. I learned to door knock, product pitch, market, administrate, and manage. This dream life came with many different hats to wear, and many twists and turns.

One, in particular, was to know when to pivot and wear a different hat before I stalled-out growth or sales for the business. I can speak more on this offline but will go on record as to say business owners, learn this lesson sooner than later, please!! You will thank me for this nugget.

We’ve been impressed with Quick-Fit 360, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Quick Fit 360, LLC is a sports product and consulting company focused on improving performance in sports through the products we offer. We sell our anchor product, the QuickFit360 Circular Agility Ladder. The QuickFit360 is the only circular agility ladder on the market that lays flat and stays flat, no matter what or who uses the product.  We are simply THE BEST in the world in this space!

There are many great applications in sports performance of the QuickFit360. Our end users usually find ways of using the product that we ourselves never envisioned. College and Professional Coaches, Athletes, Performance Trainers, and Families all purchase our product and they all share new and innovative ways in which they have found to use our product.

The QuickFit360 truly is only limited to the imagination of its user!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the sports industry continuing to move toward products like the QuickFit360 because the demand has never been higher for innovative sports products that limit the amount of equipment required to achieve results, and develop athletes for next-level performance in sport.

In addition, the sports industry has a need for products that are compact and allow multiple users in a signal training environment, the QuickFit360 is in a place nearly by itself in that regard.

You can fold and unfold our device to match the training area for your athletes, families, boot camp, or gym. Or simply fold the QuickFit360 in half to use as a semi-circle to get the best of both worlds, a linear and multi-planar direction training device.
