Community Highlights: Meet Courtney Wells of Copper State Pizza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Wells.

Hi Courtney, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! My name is Courtney and I am the owner of Copper State Pizza truck. I grew up around the pizza business, “working” in my dads pizzeria as young is 12yrs old. But to be honest, I didn’t work in my dad’s pizzeria and ever think I would own my own pizza business. Working there and watching my parents work hard to make it successful is what taught me very young in life to go after what you want, and put in the work to get it.

A lot of life happened between then and three years ago when I opened Copper State Pizza. I saw an opportunity to be able to provide for my family, doing something that was a part of my life for a long time. I worked harder than I have ever worked every day since.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been very blessed that my business continues to grow each year. There are occasional fires to put out just as any small business deals with I’m sure. Honestly, though, I think my biggest struggle has been finding a balance between running a business and being a single mom.

It’s not easy, and if you know what I mean my heart goes out to you. But just because sometimes it’s hard, I’ve learned fighting through it and staying focused is what continues to open up opportunities and growth within my business.

Our signature homemade dough, topped with fresh-premium ingredients is sure to satisfy even the most die-hard pizza enthusiast. Copper State Pizza caters to all types of events, all over the valley!

Any big plans?
I won’t share any of the new exciting things Copper State Pizza will be introducing in the near future, I can’t ruin the surprise for my pizza lovers! But my long-term goal is to expand my brand into much more than just a pizza truck and to continue to inspire other entrepreneurs by sharing my story.
