Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Crooker.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
To paraphrase an old commercial, I’ve come a long way baby. Growing up in upstate New York I relied on logic and rejected emotions. This approach worked pretty well for me. I graduated second in my high school class, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in electrical engineering and a few years later earned two Master’s degrees in engineering. After a successful career, I retired from the Navy. Approaching life relying on logic over emotions worked great in the engineering/work world but not so well outside work. While I was in graduate school I began to notice that something was missing from my life. With my emotions walled off it was hard for me to relate to people. Life was not very satisfying and certainly not joyful. I began getting counseling and started meditation aimed at emotional healing. Very gradually the layers of the wall I’d built around my heart began peeling away.
I moved to the Phoenix area after retiring from the Navy. I taught meditation for eight years and was editor of a backpacking magazine for four years. Looking for something that would utilize my well developed analytical side and also exercise my developing emotional side, I decided to become a high school math teacher. While I was pursuing a Master of Education and for my first few years of teaching, I got out of the meditation habit. I was totally focused on my job but found myself grinding through my daily work and not having a lot of fun.
A friend of mine had been taking classes to study Pranic Healing. I decided to take a class myself after watching her become less angry and reactive to some of the bumps along her life path. In Pranic Healing, you learn how to work with life force energy, called prana, to accelerate the healing process for physical and emotional ills. I also learned and began to practice a meditation called Twin Hearts. Meditating again and giving healings and getting healings has been transformative for me. My heart has opened, my stress is reduced, my body is less tense and I am experiencing true joy. I feel a connection with my spirit. I laugh often now and have developed lots of new friendships.
I retired in May after 11 years of teaching high school math and am now devoting myself to my Pranic Healing practice and to helping others experience the transformative power of Pranic Healing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge on my journey has been overcoming childhood training that showing emotion or even feeling emotions was a sign of weakness. What has helped me the most has been regular Twin Hearts meditation and giving back by doing healings on others. I’ve become a more loving person who experiences more joy and laughter and blessings in my life.
We’ve been impressed with Pranic Transformations, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called Pranic Transformations. I love introducing people to Pranic Healing. MCKS Pranic Healing® is easy to learn and comes with a built-in community of like-minded souls. I am a certified Intro Leader in the process of becoming a certified Pranic Healing instructor. I conduct free workshops online and in-person where students learn how Pranic Healing was developed and the basic steps to conducting a healing. Students learn how to apply the techniques to heal physical and emotional ills as well as to heal situations such as a toxic work environment.
I am passionate about promoting the Meditation on Twin Hearts which is a foundation of Pranic Healing. During the Meditation on Twin Hearts we bless Mother Earth with loving-kindness, peace, joy, and goodwill and enjoy the blessings and spiritual development that come as a result.
As an Intro Leader, I introduce people to Pranic Healing and encourage those who are so called to take a 2-day class. There, they can learn much, much more and practice under the guidance of an instructor. I help provide a foundation to support both new graduates and established healers. I put out a monthly newsletter, co-run a monthly free healing clinic and a group practice for advanced (Arhatic) pranic healers as well as facilitate group Twin Hearts meditations.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is each person growing and evolving to find what brings them joy. Why? Because I think world change starts with individual change. If every person is a little bit happier, they will treat others a little bit better. It becomes a cycle of kindness. I’m reminded of Michael Jackson’s song Man in the Mirror, “If you want to make the world a better place Take a look at yourself, and then make a change”.
