Prior to 2018, I started my own dog rescue, helping neglected dogs find hope. The work was rewarding but challenging, and I just wanted to keep them all!

In 2018, Pawfect Pet Sitter was born, evolving from those rescue experiences and my passion and love of animals. What started as simple pet care favors quickly revealed a critical market need: pet parents were searching for more than just a basic sitter.

It wasn’t a smooth journey, especially in the early days. As the face of Pawfect Pet Sitter, I quickly realized I was trying to be everything to everyone – managing full-day dog boarding, conducting pet visits, handling backend operations, and serving as the primary point of contact. It became clear that I couldn’t sustainably do it all.

The turning point came when I focused on building a professional team and implementing robust systems. Finding the right pet sitters was crucial – not just skilled professionals, but individuals who shared our commitment to exceptional pet care. Developing a streamlined scheduling and communication system was equally important to ensure seamless service.

My two office managers, Regina and Ken, have been absolutely instrumental in our success. They are truly the backbone of Pawfect Pet Sitter. Regina manages our main office operations during weekdays, coordinating services and maintaining our high standards of client communication. Ken handles evening and weekend operations, ensuring we provide 24/7 support to our pet parents.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was surprisingly shy, but animals became my unexpected catalyst for confidence. My childhood was a vibrant menagerie of creatures – raccoons, ferrets, mice, rats, dogs, cats, turtles, and lizards. I was that kid who turned our home into a miniature zoo, creating elaborate “circus shows” for neighborhood friends where my animals would perform seemingly impossible tricks.

My raccoon was particularly special, becoming an unexpected social bridge. Bringing her to show and tell or walking him in the park always drew curious attention, which helped me develop conversation skills and overcome my natural shyness. These experiences taught me early on about connection – whether with animals or people.

While I wasn’t necessarily an academic standout, I always possessed a strong work ethic and desire to excel. My professional journey included roles as a receptionist in the aviation and synthetic lawn industries, where I developed crucial business and customer service skills. These experiences laid a foundation for my future entrepreneurial path.

My career trajectory took an interesting turn when I became a Senior Director at Melaleuca, which ignited my passion for coaching and helping others succeed. This role was transformative, teaching me the power of positive motivation and personal development.

Balancing motherhood with professional ambitions, I discovered diverse passions – from art and gardening to health and wellness. Each experience has contributed to the person I am today: someone who sees potential, nurtures growth, and isn’t afraid to create something extraordinary from unexpected beginnings.

These varied experiences – from my childhood animal shows to my professional coaching days – have ultimately shaped my approach to Pawfect Pet Sitter, infusing the business with creativity, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
