Today we’d like to introduce you to Aavishka Pattem.
Hi Aavishka, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my podcast, The MindBloom Podcast, this year in January during my freshman year of high school as a space for teens to share their voices and stories around mindset, growth, and real-life challenges. I had no experience, just a passion for helping others and a willingness to figure things out along the way.
Since then, The MindBloom Podcast has grown into something I’m proud of. I’ve interviewed teen changemakers, grown this into a youth organization with over 30 volunteers across the nation, been featured on ABC15’s Uplifting Arizona, and been selected for programs like the Bayar Fellowship. Alongside podcasting, I’m also an elite archer, which keeps me grounded and focused.
Through it all, I’ve learned that you don’t need to wait to be older or perfect to start something meaningful, you just have to start.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I’ve faced rejection, self-doubt, and times when it felt like all my effort wasn’t being seen. Balancing school, archery, and my podcast has been challenging, especially when I’ve had to manage everything on my own. There were moments I felt overwhelmed or questioned whether I was doing enough. But those struggles have taught me how to keep going even when things aren’t perfect. They’ve helped me become more confident, stay grounded in my goals, and continue creating with purpose.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Mindbloom Podcast?
I run The Mindbloom Podcast, a teen-led platform and youth organization focused on mindset, growth, and amplifying youth voices. It’s about real, honest conversations that teens can relate to, whether it’s dealing with stress, building confidence, or chasing big goals. What sets The Mindbloom Podcast apart is its authenticity and the fact that it’s created by a teen, for teens.
Beyond the podcast itself, Mindbloom has grown into a national youth-led organization with over 30 teen volunteers from across the country. Together, we work on content, social media, outreach, and new projects, all with the shared goal of making space for young people to be heard and supported. I’m most proud of the impact we’ve made so far. Listeners have shared that The Mindbloom Podcast makes them feel seen, understood, and empowered. That’s exactly what we aim to do, spark meaningful conversations and remind teens that they’re not alone.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see a huge shift toward more youth-led content and platforms. Gen Z and Gen Alpha are craving authenticity, and they’re turning to creators for stories and advice that feel real. Podcasts will continue to grow, especially as they become more accessible and more teens see them as a way to express themselves and build community.
I also think we’ll see a rise in youth-led organizations that go beyond just creating content; they’ll be driving real impact, advocating for change, and shaping conversations in education, mental health, and social justice.
