Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Vincent.
Trey, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
When I was in kindergarten, I was obsessed with the movie “Mama Mia” and when my school announced that they were doing a talent show, I performed the song “dancing queen” after that performance, I knew I was in love with performing. Afterwards, I joined the Phoenix Boys Choir, which gave me several opportunities to perform in Arizona and around the world. Towards the end of my time at PBC, I started to write my own songs and play at open mics with my acoustic guitar.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I create music with my acoustic guitar and voice. The reason I create music is because it’s a healthy way to deal with emotions, and it’s a way for me to express myself. I really hope that my music can help people with their day to day struggles.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as an artist is to take your time to perfect your craft. If you do a sloppy job practicing or writing a song, the final product isn’t going to be as good.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Well, this year, I will be participating in Alice Coopers Proof is in the Pudding, which you can catch at the Rock teen center. You can also catch me busking at the downtown public market in Phoenix on Saturday’s occasionally. As for my music, I have a single out right now called “facade” available on all streaming platforms, and my EP “shattered glass” is coming out soon.
