Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Fultz and Jeremiah Scheffer.

Tracy and Jeremiah, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
We are two professional photographers that are crazy about each other and documenting life, love and the human connection as Blushing Cactus Photography. We met at a show, through our mutual love of music photography, and realized quickly that we enjoyed spending time together, both personally and professionally. The next thing we knew, we were running a business together and getting married – living life to the fullest.

We’d love to hear more about your work. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Any event we photograph, whether it’s a wedding, concert, conference, or portrait session, is a story made up of hundreds of moments just waiting to be captured. We have a photojournalistic style, so we are always looking for those candid and spontaneous emotions to create the most authentic images. At a wedding, you might see us photographing what we call “in between” moments of a family laughing with each other during formal, posed shots. We make each photo session fun and develop a trust and friendship with our clients, which allows us to highlight their unique personalities.

We are two creative individuals who bring our own strengths and ideas to each photoshoot and inspire one another in many ways, which is one of the many reasons why we love working together. Our clients receive the perfect blend of creative, classic and detailed images that will document their story from beginning to end.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
The challenge is to find ways to stand out in such a heavily saturated market. We are continually seeking out new angles and best use of available light to create compelling images and love getting creative in post-production to enhance the mood of a photo. Our goal is always to share the energy of an event or show, in the form of still images… from a musician belting out a song on stage, to the crowd singing along. One of the best compliments we often get about live band photography is, “I couldn’t be at the show, but looking at your photos, I felt like I was there.”
