Check out Steep Stevie’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steep Stevie.

Steep, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
In February, 2016 I was living in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I had just bought Ableton Push with some money I had saved from guitar gigs. I planned to stay in for the month and just work on the album that I had been chipping away at for years. When I started playing around with Ableton and the Push I quickly realized it was limitless! I would do some drum stuff then some bass stuff then some keys… I started to experiment with doing 2 at the same time. Bass and drums or bass and keys, etc. There was a eureka moment when I realized I could do all 3 with the right setup. I’ve been working on that ever since and moved back to Phoenix in August 2016 to have the necessary time to work on playing and singing my music with this new instrument!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I write songs from life experience. Sometimes through my own eyes or from another’s view point to the best of my ability. I try to write very palatable popular music with a roots driven feel and lyrics that tell a story. I hope my songs get stuck in your head and that you’re happy about it!

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Find where something you love doing, something you could be the best in the world at and something that is potentially very lucrative overlap.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
If you follow me on Instagram (steepstevie) I usually post videos and let people know about upcoming shows. My next show is April 17th from 9-10 at the Lost Leaf.
