Check out Paige Reesor’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Reesor.

Paige, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
-Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan.
-Moved to Tempe 5 years ago to become an art teacher.
-Always been an artist ever since a young age.
-Cannot remember a time where art wasn’t a part of my life.
-Dreamed of becoming an artist. Knew if I dreamed it through my passion and dedication, I would become one.
-Although art is about creativity, you need to see you work as a business. Marketing is key!
-Known for my vibrant personality, through my character and my art.
-Giving back to the community is my life philosophy when it comes to art.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
-Portrait artist
-Painter – acrylic and mix media. I work with a lot of colors exploring realism and expression.
-Many of my paintings comment on pop culture or politics.
– Along with selling my artwork, I do portrait and pet commissions on the side.

-Art teacher for a public middle school
-Passionate teacher who inspires students to tap into their own talents.
-Assistant manager and painting instructor at a studio.

Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
Artists can connect globally now through social media. We can comment and document on current issues in real time. Art is about giving life and voice by using vibrant and powerful images. Art needs to be thought-provoking  Some of my paintings have political undertones. Politics and education is a big part of my life, and I like sharing this information through my art. Along with being a professional artist, I find being an art teacher is the most rewarding thing I could do with my life. Bringing positivity to my students through art is very important to me. When I see my students succeeding at what they do, I succeed also.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?

People can support my work by following or liking my social media pages. Social media has helped open the doors to many artists. Buying art for local artists, we are a community that works together. I usually show my artwork out in public once a month rather it is in a gallery, cafe, bar/restaurant, or event. I also believe it is important to use your art to give back to the community like through silent auctions for non-profits.
