Check Out Wish Master’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wish Master.

Hi Wish , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been into music, arts, drama and creative expression since I was 10 but started pursuing a more musical interest by 2007.
This is when I made my first project and was using the artist name Defwish.

The first music group I was in was called Kold hearted kru which was a grime crew consisting of Bristol’s finest Like Buggsy, Dj joker, Dvs, Deezi, and Tyson. These were more experimental times for me learning the craft snd gaining confidence and momentum.

In 2012 I made the decision to transition into hiphop and this were my career started to take shape. I preferred hiphop as it was a lot slower and allowed me to express my self more.

By 2014 I was apart of a group called official Recording which consist of 4 members myself, Ellis, Gilly and Dash villz we had a few videos on grime daily and started are own YouTube channel. At that time I was going by the artist name wavey Wish.
Everything was going well we’re getting shows and radio Play, but then the other group members decided they wanted to become solo artist.

In 2017 I had started my own label O.R RECORDS which I use to this day. this is when i made my final transition to Wish Master and released albums like Boombap to the future, A beautiful Mess, The Bull and so many more.

2022 I went to NYC for the first time and built some amazing relationships and connections which allows me to go there till this day to do music preform and work with different artist and producers.

Last year I put out an album called No CPR produced by Farma G from task force. It was put out on false idols label which is Owned by Tricky from Bristols legendary trip-hop collective massive attack.

I have a few project that are finish and waiting to be released with some
Amazing producers one with Relix The Undergod, Wino Willy, Kong Da Artisan, and El lif Beatz.

The journey has been really eye opening experience. I feel blessed and privileged to be working with so many different producers from all over the world it was always a dream of mine and now I’m living it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always obstacles in what ever you do in life but you just have to find a way to turn your strengths into weaknesses.

The biggest obstacle I think I’ve faced was breaking into the industry and not being from Bristol. Bristol a smaller city to places like London, Manchester and birmingham. So it doesn’t have as much musical resources on the business side of things. However it is packed full of artistic creativity and talent.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an artist creative director and lyricist.
I make music for me first and foremost. it all about expression and life experiences thing I have seen or been through in life. I like to write from a perspective that gives people food for thought instead of trying to preach or seem like I’m bragging. It’s more real life reality based rap.

What would set me apart from others is I’m always my self and true to me I don’t sound like anyone and i am the true definition of hard work and consistency.
Did this all on my own no help no mangers no labels no pr nothing just me myself and I being my true authentic self.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Yh I like to watch podcasts and read self motivation books. I also like to meditate and spend time alone just working on the internal as we always focus on the external but must look within sometimes.
