Check Out Sydney Rutherford’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Rutherford.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Sydney, but most folks call me Syd. I’m just your average small-town girl born and raised in Canada. I grew up in a big family with high aspirations. I’ve always been one to indulge in the finer things in life. When I say this, I mean the people and moments in life we tend to take for granted. That’s where the true beauty lies in life. This is what motivates me to work towards a life I can one day be proud of. My main goal is to promote ‘do good, be good, feel good and look good.’ I’ve managed to construct such a platform with my social media and content creating. I’m stoked to see what the future has in store for me!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everyday stressors and events that happen can affect how we go about in the world. We tend to house trauma and ignore the healing process. This has been my biggest downfall. It took my beloved mother passing away, moving into a tiny home, losing my kitty named Merlin, not talking with my family, walking out on my medical job AND getting into 2 serious car accidents all in the last year for me to finally realize this.

I needed to come to terms with it all first. It was heavy and hard to handle. But once I did, I started the process of homecoming – which is the journey back to oneself. We get disconnected from ourselves from various life experiences that’s why it’s so imperative to be self-aware. When we are at home with ourselves there is no longer a need to hide or mask who we are. Instead, we begin to finally start living the life we know is destined for us.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
The social media aspect of my life really started to take off in 2018. I had completed 2 college programs (Police Foundations and Victimology) and was working out in the real world at this point. Spending a ton of my time socializing, partying, traveling and just living my best life. I had dabbled in quite a few jobs and had my fair share of wild experiences. Which gave me the fuel I needed to share my lifestyle with the world. I’ve always had a passion for fashion, cooking, adventure, extreme sports, animal welfare and the great outdoors. What I didn’t know was how I going to in cooperate them all into my work. That’s until I started learning the power of the internet. From then on, I’ve been pouring my passion into my content.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
My boyfriend Kyle and I live in a Tiny Home in the woods! We decided to embark on a totally new adventure together. Neither of us have ever lived in one prior to this but now we wouldn’t change it for the world. Deciding to go Tiny and buying the 24 ft trailer with 13-foot ceilings was an experience in it self-let me tell you. He bought it December 2020 and moved in around January 2021. I on the other hand didn’t move in until April 2021. It’s been over a year, and we’ve learned a hell of a lot along the way. When life becomes less about quantity and more about quality, you start realizing what’s truly important in life. Don’t get me wrong – we came from big family homes and boujee lifestyles. But sometimes life has a funny way of giving you the life you didn’t even know you wanted or needed for that matter.
