Check Out Stephanie Dorworth’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Dorworth.

Stephanie Dorworth

Hi Stephanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m Stephanie, hello! For all my soulful people who like to go deeper, Steph means “crown,” and my Human design tells me I was born to be an entrepreneur who teaches others how to transform their lives – so I’m living an aligned purpose. I am an energy generator, lighting up everyone I work with like the sun. My Aquarius sun is driven by the freedom to do things my way, and my cancer moon is intuitive with a third eye. I was born to be a freelance queen, and I am so happy you’re here to learn more about me.

I have always known deep down that I was born to be a free entrepreneur, but I felt pressured to go the route of college and grad school, so I did. I went to Physical therapy school, got my Doctorate (plus a million other certifications), and worked as a PT for 7 years. I was a perfectionist, always trying to please everyone, but was I happy? No. I felt trapped in the corporate world, wishing I had more time off for travel, flexibility with my hours, and the ability to work from home. I felt lost and stressed daily working for a big corporate company with a glass ceiling on my pay.

I wanted more freedom, independence, and the opportunity to build my own empire! It was time to take action and change the trajectory of my life. I rebuilt myself from the inside out, going to therapy, diving deep into my human design and astrology, making more “me” time, and more mindfully deciding how I use my energy.

I wanted a change, so I fearlessly began freelancing, selling fitness videos & photos. By 2018, I could pay off $220k in student loans, quit PT at 31 years old, and become my boss as a freelancing entrepreneur. Initially, I felt called to be a health coach, using my PT background to help transform women’s lives by building mindful eating, exercise, & energy habits. So, I coached and freelanced for a couple of years, loving it. I was also published in 35+ magazines like Oxygen, Pilates Style, Women’s Health & Fitness, & more!

By 2022, I left the world of health & fitness to pursue freelancing media creation full-time. I am multi-passionate, and my purpose in life is undefined or ever-changing. So, in the summer of 2022, I accepted the evolution and pivoted (again) into freelance content and video creation. And in 2023, Sunny Creator Co. was born. I now create graphics, websites, and videos for companies worldwide – my way. I wake up every day getting to know my boss and work when and where I want. Now, I am happier than ever as a freelancer. And I love capturing other female leaders and entrepreneurs in the Valley on video. At Sunny Creator Co., my mission is to help soulful leaders + brands expand their visibility with magnetic content creation and magical moments captured in video.

Thanks for sharing that. Can you tell us more about your work next?
I started Sunny Creator Co. in 2023 to capture energy through video. In the words of my friend Jessica Burgio, “People buy energy.” If you have a business, host events, or enjoy speaking, the key to selling out your next event or getting booked to speak again is having videos that can share your energy.

As a video creator, I capture the energy of a room and package it in a way that tells an authentic story—it’s so fun! So, suppose you’re a soulful female leader hosting or speaking at an event like a retreat, conference, or party. In that case, video can capture the energy, create major FOMO, and allow you to shine online to attract more opportunities and clients! Video can take your marketing from “good” to “oh my gosh, I need to be in that room.” Video is a necessity for any successful female entrepreneur. So, if you’re reading this and have yet to create much video content, get on it. Reach out, and let’s chat. I especially love helping women who want to show up consistently online but lack the time to create and edit videos.

As a creator, I am known to infuse positivity and sunshine into everything I create for my clients. While filming at an event, I’ve been told I gracefully glide across the room, as if magnetized toward different energies, with a smile on my face. People love feeling comfortable around me, which is unique because most media production companies have different vibes. I’m a one-woman videographer coming in to capture the essence of your event (the vibe is different when your attendees and the videographer are on a first-name basis).

“I love to capture the energy of events, parties, live podcasts, speakers and bottle it up into short form video content for Phoenix entrepreneurs. Capturing and putting together creative videos that are magnetic and tell a story is what lights me up!

Networking and finding a mentor can positively impact one’s life and career. Any advice?
My friend asked me this the other day, and for me, what works well is Instagram. So many of the mentors I’ve hired and the masterminds I’ve joined are because of referrals on Instagram. Once you get plugged into a network of female business owners and entrepreneurs, they love sharing their business successes, including those with whom they’ve happily worked. So, anytime my business girlies share their business girlies, I follow them. I started learning more about them, their story, and what they offer. If the person shares vulnerably and I can relate to them, I tend to be drawn to them when watching their videos. So, if you are new to networking, start small. Attract a few good friends in your space, and over time, through word-of-mouth, your network will expand simply by listening to them. In addition, a healthy mindset shift I’ve made recently is seeing networking not as an adverse selling event but as a way to make connections. The vibes are totally different if you walk into an event to build authentic, new connections. You come across as someone who genuinely wants to meet new people and build friendships. And if they need your service someday, that’s great! If not, it just feels good to be building your tribe of like-minded people around you.
